okay this is my biggest budgie cage its fairly tall but plenty of width and height and my birds love it. This is the cage Tobi and Max share a good size for two budgies I think. You can see on the first picture what a decent size the second cage is sat next to the big one a bargain at £50 too, the big cage was my biggest bargain at £115 - my best cage buy ever.

Tobi

Thats what Im saying my old vet left the practice and the city and none of the other vets no anything about birds. Ive had Boomhubby ring me though and a friend of his is coming over tonight who breeds champion show budgies and has done for 30 years. He might if anything be able to have a little look at her.

Tobi
Yeah I fully understand that and the thing is the normal/avian vet left the practice the day after Barnslee got the all clear and Ive only just found me a new vet which is quite far out and he only works 2 days a week. She will be see but I can get her there until Tuesday. I could ring and say its an emergency but at the moment its not and I think the vet would be pretty pee'd off being called out on a weekend. Believe me if it gets to this stage I will ring but Im taking her Tuesday. She hasnt deteriorated any so far today. Ive just rang home and apart from someone kids setting fire to my electric box on part of my house she is doing fine.

Yeah I know Terri, but its weird one minute she is fine and the next day she is not flying again. I intend to take her to the vets next week, he only works Tuesdays and Wednesdays and isnt my usual vet. I arent putting off taking her. Like with anything I try first hand to distinguish the problem without having to stress her out more than I have to, but she has stumped me good and proper this time.

She is fine on her perch Daz Ive been watching closely not at att wobbly. Her tum feels a bit solid but there is definitely no lump and her co-ordination seems fine. Its a total mystery.

Opaline
I reckon so be my Tobi is an opaline and a spangle so dont see why it couldnt be!

Tobi
Well Im sure she still isnt right but last night she was able to fly somewhat better and even jumped on Charlies (tiel) back which is her favourite thing to do and this morning she was ack ack acking at the top of her voice as usual. Her poops are still fine, and her appetite but I still think her breathing seems a little fast. Ive found a new avian vet that I can take her to beginning of next week if nothing improves further.

Ive a problem with my girl and I dont know what it is. On Saturday she came out as usual and crash landed to the floor, unable to do any more than a little flutter and was quite out of breath. She is usually a strong flyer. Anyway she has been fairly quiet since although still eating, drinking and pooping fine. One day since she flew okay but last night she was crash landing again. She hasnt lost a single flight and isnt molting. I first thought a respiratory problem so Ive kept her warm and half covered since the weekend. But she is now scratting at her bottom, a problem she had a while back. I picked her up to check her over and she felt quite hard on her tummy, not a lump just more solid than usual. Can anyone help me as to what might be the matter.

Which Is The Best Brand Of Budgie Food
Mine didn't go for the pellets and as Daz said was costing me a fortune just to get thrown out. But mine has a very varied diet. I also buy them something called Jungle Munchies from Pets At Home - its coloured seed I sprinkle a bit on their normal seed it smells lovely but it contain a few pellets mixed in and they all eat this so it cant be too bad. Fresh veggies and fruit is a necessity, spinach and carrot tops are a fave in my house. I also add especially to my non veg eating tiels a dusting of ACE High vitamin twice a week. My budgies get it once a every couple of weeks as they all eat lots of veg.

Egg Bound
You really should save allowance each week for vets bills etc nobody should be in a position not to be able to afford to take their pet to the vets. Its all responsibility of owning pets. One thing Ive heard helps though is to gently rub warm olive oil around the area.

Flight Suits
Depends what you want it for. Ive got a harness for my tiel to take him out in the spring/summer and got it from Pets At Home Im not sure they do budgie sized ones though.

Budgies, Cockatiels And Rosa Bourkes Together
From experience with my budgies and tiels I would definitely not house them together. I can't let mine all out together with no supervision because the budgies terrorise the tiels. I do still however find it strange a big bird like a tiel could be scared of a tidgy budgie!
