  1. Terri she hasnt had any blood work done but it might be worth doing if this thing isnt going to go away for good. She is back at the vets on Tuesday so I'll ask his advice. Luckily I dont have carpet in the rooms the birds are in - I have wooden floors.
  2. Oh I wear perfume but I only spray it a couple times and then go out I dont wear it when I get back but that could be it. Boomhubby doesnt shave with cream Lin he has the unshaven look hehe. Perfume is the only thing it could be with regard to chemical stuff. I will smell in future.
  3. My birds love this I tried it the other day. In a big bowl I chopped up strawberries, mango, kiwi and oranges and stuck the bowl on top of their cages, they took a while to suss it out but had a balll picking at all the different fruit. I wasnt sure how oranges would go down but they all loved bursting the juice out of the little segments. Give it a go guys!
  4. Any response that was trying to help is worthy of thanks. Her probiotic has a garlic extract and smells gross so not only do I have a sickly budgie but a very smelly one hehe(only joking she doesnt smell of garlic)
  5. Yeah I think it could be thats she has a weaker immune system maybe. Anyways thanks for your help and I hope she is going to be okay. I'll take some pictures over the weekend of her and her new perch I bought her.
  6. Half n half hehehe. Not sure but I bet it looks really cute. I have a yellowface opaline spangle who never got any iris rings at all and as far as I am aware she contains no recessive in her at all. Sometimes things dont have an explanation I guess as my bird SHOULD have these and especially at almost 1 year old!
  7. Nope because I only use hot soapy water because of the same reasons. I sometimes use pure lemon juice to clean window etc and it gives a lovely fresh clean smell, but nothing chemical is used in my house. Its hard to pin point unless she never really got over the bad bout she had in the new year.
  8. Definitely not I am super paranoid about stuff like that, no air freshners, teflon, smoke, plants etc are used in my home at all. For some reason though she seems prone to infection and has spent most of her first year in and out the vets. I bought her a funky new perch toy today to cheer her up - I would have taken a picture but the temp girl who covered my hols has broken the camera grrrrrrrrrrr.
  9. Yes my Tobi girl is sick again and another respiratory infection, she isnt as bad as last time not by a long way but she has mostly lost her flight again and isnt bullying the others which isnt normal for her. She is on antibiotics and probiotics for a few more days so fingers crossed she is going to be okay. Im not as worried as I was last time about her and she is still eating and drinking fine so thats good. Oh why does my baby girl have to be sick all the time.
  10. For sure a girl no doubts at all.

  14. Luckily I dont have that problem I did and thats why they are all seperated now 2 per cage with a swing each - I had real problems when they did share and it was always Candy who got pushed off his swing. Tobi again was the bird causing all the problems. Patty often does too. I only ever have trouble with the girls though.

  17. I know this too well with Tobi she does the angry dolphin noise almost constantly whenever she cant get her own way or even sometimes when she has and is terrified someone will come try steal whatever she has claimed. She also ack ack acks a lot too. She is really the only bird I have who is like this and the others tolerate her most of the time otherwise I would have real problems.!
  18. Any news Ali how is Mr Cheeky doing?
  19. Oh my thoughts are going to be with you both over the weekend. Did you take a favourite toy in for him - that might cheer him up a bit.

  23. Oh poor Cheeky. The vet will know best - what time do you take him. Please let us know what happens - we love this little old man.
  24. Sounds like a respiratory infection to me. Good job that you are taking him to the vets. He will probably be given a course of antibiotics. I hope he fights it off good and quick.
  25. Is she eating the pink calcium perch that could possibly be causing the reddish poop.
