bird flu
I personally arent worried about myself catching it, its the elderly, the ill and children who are at risk same as normal flu. But my birdies are my life and it scares me to know there is even a slightest chance this thing could wipe them all out!

Help!
Awww where did you find it, is it really young? Try dabbing it with luke warm water on some cotton wool to try and soften it.

Farleys Rusks
Ive recently offered these as a treat broken in half and clipped to the side of the cage. I bought the reduced sugar ones and from the ingredients they look the perfect treat for budgies, not high in fat like seed treats either. They have gone down a storm with my birds and just thought I would share the idea for others to try!

Big Budgies
To be honest Pix I took away everything that was bad for him, seed bells, millet, trill toppers. All he ate for 3 months was seed, cooked foods and fruit and veggies. He is now allowed the odd millet and treat but he shares his cage with 3 others now so he only gets the odd nibble it wasnt ALL his to eat. Anne I LOVE to watch him fly it brings me tears of joy I'll tell you!

Big Budgies
Yep Anne, he comes out of his cage on his own accord - he NEVER did that before and this is more than once a day too, he flys and squawks like an eagle whilst doing so. He isnt as strong as the others but he can make a lap around the room one thing that was impossible at one time. He just needs even more practice to build his wing muscles up. Its great isnt it?

Big Budgies
Candy was 56 g and way over weight he couldnt even fly, lucky for him he has lots 15 grams well he had he might have popped a few on but he isnt half as big as he used to be. Dont you think he is looking trimmer?

Casper
I have 2 budgies who are thin. Georgy was almost starved when I got him his keel bone stuck out REALLY bad. He has since put weight on but I dont reckon he even weighs 30g, he is perfectly healthly though and Bobby my grey he is small and eats like a pig but he is very active. Maybe Caspy is just a thinny too hehe. Glad he is okay!

Pellets With Seed
I tried the mash and the superfine and the power chunks too. They didn't touch any of it. Believe me I would love them to convert but it really was costing me a lot of money with no results at all. I might try again with a different brand but not for a bit.

cage covers
I am going to buy a fleecy throw tonight for my birds now the winter is coming, makes me want to get in their cosy cage with them.

Budgie With Diarrhea :(
Het butt looks the same as Tobis without the poop. She plucked hers out but I found the cause it was some food she was eating. Have yours had a change of diet, just a thought.

Pellets With Seed
Yeah sorry Terri I just realised that didn't sound very positive but I tried everything. Pellets with seed. Pellets Pellets stuffed in treats Pellets in their fave soft food (they just didn't tough any of it) Pellets only in the morning when they are most hungry geven in their favourite food. Honest I did try and its cost me a fortune. But I do give them the best alternative diet I can I make the effort in other areas. Hey Kirsty you little one may take to them straight way I hope so. My birds are stubborn!

Pellets With Seed
Unfortunately Ive given up on pellets, I spent almost ?100 trying to convert and they wouldnt even sniff them grrrrrrrr. I do however feed a big variety of fruit and veggies and cooked foods. Beak Appetit was a no no again too. But I have success with baby foods with rice and boiled egg, wheatgrass just to name a few. My birds are SPOILT hehe!

Great Carrots!
I buy carrots and tops all the time. I got them from Sainsburys, but they do go off super quick. Im growing my own next year dead easy to grow and they are my bird fave food. Even the tiels love them.

Le Grass Cafe
Well it went down well but not straight from the pot it scared them, so I cut some off and put it in their bath bowl with some water in and they adored it!

bird flu
What I dont get is why are the claiming it could kill 10's of thousands of people here, yet in a 3rd world country it only claimed 60 lives. Surely we have more resources than them. This question hasnt been answered by anymore I dont think yet.
-
Le Grass Cafe
Great no need to pick them all out then. I hope it goes down better than last time.
-
Le Grass Cafe
Right my grass is ready, just a quick question, there are a lot of the seeds lying about too, what would happen if any of the bird ate a seed - would it be poisonous to them. It doesnt state anything on the box about consuming the seeds. Anyone know or had a bird eat a seed?

Hip Hip Hooray!

Itchy Bottom
For now I will just clean her up she had another couple stuck this morning but where she had slept there was also a little pile so they arent all sticking. About her diet the only new thing she has had recently was some Jungle Munchies seed, the coloured ones but only a sprinkle on top of her seed bowl. I wonder if this could be it. I will stop giving her it and see if anything changes.

A Colection Of Random Questions
I have 2 females and 4 males. One male and female are paired up but dont mate. One of my other males shares a cage with my other female, but they have time out to be with my other 2 males and I do get quite a lot of bickering, they were supposed to share a huge cage I got them but because of the fighting they are seperated which is a pain, a costly pain, but I agree this is a personality thing and can be a total different situation with different tempremented birds.

Itchy Bottom
Bea you KNOW how much I would love a baby budgie, but you also know I dont have the time or space for any more. If it did somehow happen I would get rid of the egg for sure Tobi is only a baby still and Im pretty sure she hasnt mated. So Im thinking its something else Im hoping anyways. I'll feed her up extra green tonight see if that helps.

Itchy Bottom
No she sleeps on a plastic swing with bells on - all my budgies do. I cant see any reason that they are sticking especially when the consistency is right. I wonder if its something she is lacking in her food maybe. Something that also worried me she was trying to get into her seed bowl this morning, the ones that clip on from the outside. I keep having awful visions of seeing an egg one morning after someone told me she could be with child hehe!

Itchy Bottom
Thanks Guys. I noticed this morning that when I woke her up she had another couple of poops dried to her feathers. Completely normal poops that just havent dropped so again she is fiddling with her butt grrrrrr. Why arent these poops dropping and it only seems to happen overnight.

Itchy Bottom
