Ozzie's A Sucker
He fell for Cookie's charms! :nest: She's officially irresistible! Oz was the one boy who doesn't chase her around, smooching up to her. This annoyed her and for days she's been following Ozzie everywhere tilting her head for a scratch whenever she got near enough. Here's some more pics of the budgies, lots of Ozzie because he was being a star model today! My squishy little cutie butt! Fizz Wizz Blinko Stinko And Mr Ozzie Oswald! This has to be one of my favourite photos i've ever taken of Oz, i LOVE it! Why hello Fork-Oz! And Spoon-Oz, you're here too! What? Don't you talk to cutlery friends? Fizzy terrorised Mr Bails a bit, poor Bailee And then Oz, Fizz and Miss Cookie had a snooze on the boing.

Lino For The Aviary
So should i just take it out then. Dad won't be happy with that, i was sure i'd seen it used before.

This Is The One I Choose!
It's about the minimum for a single budgie, it will do the job.

Poor Akala
The lump had more than doubled in size in just a week and a half. It was attached to the wing in such a way that to remove it would mean removing the whole wing. We got her put to sleep. RIP Akala. I feel absolutely terrible.

Poor Akala
We're leaving for the vet in 15mins. I hope she can come home with us.

Lino For The Aviary
We did place it on top of the sand, i will keep an eye out for mould and if i notice it i will talk to dad about buying pavers to put in instead.

Lino For The Aviary
We were thinking of using concrete slabs too, but it wasn't happening fast enough for my liking, so i thought lino would be cheaper and easier, and dad would be more inclined to act quickly. :budgiedance:

Poor Akala
Thanks Aly, we were really hoping it would be a long time before we had to be thinking about putting her to sleep. :budgiedance: I get all teary thinking about having to make that call, it's something i've never done before.

Poor Akala
Today Akala's lump burst, it was oozing blood for a while but it's since stopped and dried. When i was trying to clean her up i noticed that her lump has grown quite a lot in just a week and a half. :ausb: We're hoping to get to the vet either first thing in the morning, or on Tuesday morning. If it's just going to keep growing rapidly, and bursting, she may not be coming home. :budgiedance:

I Think Saffy Is Eggbound!
Oh no, i hope she's not. Put her in the bathroom and get the room really steamy, i've heard that can help them pass the egg. Let us know how you go at the vet.

Lino For The Aviary
Well my tame budgies walk around on the kitchen lino indoors, so i can't see it being a problem for the aviary budgies. :budgiedance:

Diy Toys And Play Gyms
I've been meaning to do this for ages!!! I finally made my own natural perches tonight. I got the stainless steel hardware from www.myparrotshop.com for much cheaper than i have been able to find them locally, so i'm happy! I took the bark off because it looks prettier, hehe! Close up of the hardware end. For the second perch i added beads and buttons and stuff to chew! It's a play-perch! :ausb: Now i've just got to decide who gets what perch! :budgiedance:

Lino For The Aviary
Today we put some lino on the floor of the aviary instead of sand, the plan is that it will be easier to sweep/wipe clean that the sand was. :ausb: Let's hope it works. It's sandy coloured, and so far the birds don't seem to even care that it's there. They've already spilt their seed on it for me to clean up. :budgiedance:

Nuts For Gum Leaves!
The other day we had lots of strong wind during the night (scary) but the good thing is that lots of branches came down FULL of gum leaves. Walking home from school on friday i collected a huge bunch, and when i got home i washed them and gave them to the aviary budgies. They went NUTS for them. Jasper Jasper and Squeak Bubble (she got the most excited!) Bubble and Squeak ((Laughing out loud)) Porkball Gherkin looking happy with his find Jelly Two of the skyblue spangle triplets Domino and Jenga Bubble again ' Yahtzee Pudding PB Akala and Scamp (hiding, (Laughing out loud)) Dimsim I'm just about to go clean the aviary now, there are chewed gum leaves EVERYWHERE!!! Then i'm going to put down some lino to replace the sand that i've been using, easier to clean. We even managed to find lino that looks sandy, so it won't scare the birds.
