Meet Monty
Well here is another shot of my cute little guy. He is such an amazing little fella - already stepping up and sitting on shoulders. He seems to really enjoy people. He isn't chirping as much to the rest of the gang now. He sits content in his own little cage. He was a little angel while I clipped his wings. Wow! I thought Sylvester was easy to tame but he seems to be even better. Here he is with my niece. Oh, and I don't want to start a new post, so here is the rest of the gang. All 12 (Beka is there but can't see her head).

New To Breeding, Tips On When Time Is Right Needed
Every budgie is different but it usually takes a few days for them to settle enough to eat. Try putting food on a plate on the floor and in a cup on side of cage so they have some options. Perhaps they are used to eating food from a certain spot.

The "love"
Awe, look at them. Those are sweet pics. I think sometimes the younger birds will accept the preening more than the older birds. Merlin doesn't look baby anymore with his baby bars gone and blue cere. Gosh they mature physically so fast!

Meet Monty
He definately needs a bath but I'll give him a few days to settle in. He seemed to be the most confident and active bird in the cage so I can't wait to see how he is when he settles in. I now have 7 females and 6 males. I wasn't going to get any more birds until my YF2 spangle but I just couldn't resist this little man. I'm constantly on the lookout for my YF2 spangle but no luck yet. I'm hoping that breeding Bella and Wylie might produce one.

Meet Monty
okay. After seeing the pics of those dilute yellow face triplets, I had to go back to the petstore. The YF baby was still there but his beak looked a bit off and I was scared to bring him home in case he had the beginning stages of scaly face. Instead I brought home his brother. No yellowface but the most gorgeous dilute boy. Oh my. I'm not sure if he is a violet or mauve but he is very pretty. This last picture is blurry but shows his true colour because it was taken without a flash. So do you think he is a greywing or ordinary dilute?

Oscar's First Moult
I'm certainly no expert and every budgie is different so it could be his first moult. I was just surprised at how blue he is and he also has very pronounced iris rings. Both of those say 6 months or more to me, but every budgie is different and the head bars are probably the best indicator. He really is a handsome boy.

Is "he " A Boy Or A Girl?
I'd say girl too. Do you have any more pictures?

********budgiebird Hilton News *********
What gorgeous pups! Glad they are all well. Way to go!

Oscar's First Moult
Well my males all seemed to have a very pink cere with their first moult. It was just getting a hint of blue. Max is going through his second moult and his is still quite pink (and he isn't a recessive).

Looooooooooooong Overdue!
Hey Kirby, great to see pics of your gang. I've been away from the boards - my sis is visiting from Brantford. Anyway, your birds are gorgeous. Do you have any yellowface females you could mate with your violet spangle?

Oscar
Both very lovely looking budgies. Sorry for your loss.

Oscar's First Moult
He still looks like a handsome man. What a blue cere for a first moult.

Football!
Awesome video. I can't imagine any of mine doing that. How did he ever get started with such an activity?

Almost 100% Convinced.....
Still looks male to me!

Baby Budgie
What lovely birds. The blue one looks identical to my Star who is an opaline YF1. The "yellow" birds actually look a lot like my Beka who is a dilute green. I agree with the others. Get rid of the rusty cage. Not worth the risk with those cuties!

Bobbyness New Flock
What a gorgeous flock you have!!!!! I love Haggis - my favourite budgie colouring ever!!!!

My 3 Clones
So beautiful. I recently saw a beautiful male baby that looks just like your budgies trio. I wanted to get him but with a house full of company this month I didn't think it was wise. I'm so so tempted to go and get him now because they are just gorgeous!!!!

Alfie
So pretty. I love his blue in the pics - does look really "sky" though. More pics please!

Tail Bobbing, Pooey Bits And Lying Down
None of it sounds normal to me. I would take your babies to an avian vet and get them checked out. My budgies do not lie down on their perches ever. And the only time they have had sticky poo is when I first brought them home and they were adjusting to the new environment. They occasionally heavy breathe if they are nervous but it is very uncommon.
