  1. What a pretty budgie. Looks like a lovely mauve colour. I was thinking from the second picture it might be a she. That cere looks quite white?

When I first saw these I thought they were so cool and wanted one. But after hearing from others, I'm glad I didn't get one. All that plastic leaves very little for the budgies to climb on. So they are pretty much stuck sitting on their perches when inside the cage. I'd say spend the money on a good horizontal bar cage. Your budgies with thank you for it I'm sure.
  3. I'm sure she'll love her new home - bigger is always better for them. She's really cute!
  4. So glad that all worked out for your little girl. You have beautiful budgies.
  5. So if you breed a YF2 bird to a normal blue will babies be YF2 or YF1? And what if you breed a YF1 to a normal blue?
  6. With any luck, your tame budgie will have an influence on your older bird and perhaps she will become a little more tame. I have had a few "semi" tame birds that will step up, sit on my finger for millett. They share a cage with some untame birds. When the more tame ones sit on my finger for millet, the others will come over to and tentatively perch on me. They follow the behaviour of the flock. Keep handling your tame bird lots and it should be fine.

Lovely, Hercules is stunning. Is that an accurate representation of his colour? His cheek patches are so purple. I like the last picture too. What is the mutation of that bird - DEC???
  8. Yes, please keep us posted. I pray all turns out well for your little Shadow.

He really is gorgeous Lovey! I LOVE blue budgies. He looks almost violet in the first picture. I stopped in the petshop to get some cuttlebone today and there was a budgie that reminds me of Merlin. I think Max's brother is still there too. Looks just like Max. I wish someone would soon buy him. I hate to see them in the petshops for so long in those tiny little cages. Back to Merlin - more pics anytime

Love the first picture. It really looks like Pretty is whispering a grand scheme in Merlin's ear. So cute!
  11. :) They are gorgeous!!!! More pictures please.

Nope. No new budgies. I think 12 in the house is enough. Lots of noise and birdie mess. As for breeding I'm definately waiting a bit. Won't have time to devote to it this summer with a house full of company coming for month of August. Perhaps late fall I'll put up Bella and ??? We'll see. I'm very anxious to have at least one clutch from her- especially when I read of all the babies at the Budgiebird Hilton. But.... want to do it when they are older and I have the time.
  13. I probably don't even have to say it but... I will anyway. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Jennie. She is beautiful!!!!!!! Linnie is adorale too. But you know me and those YF2 spangles.

I think Max is a mauve YF2. He is turning more "greenish" every day. He still looks bluish purple on the bottom half of his belly but the yellow is bleeding into the chest turning that mauve very green. The back near the tail showed some green when he first came home. Please experts can correct if I'm wrong. Thanks Karen. Yes, they are both cute. Lucas is an only child and of course is simply beautiful in his adoring mom's eyes.

Must be my monitor because every budgie is now looking cinammon to me. Maybe my eyes are just getting old. Agh!!

Here are a few shots of Max. A couple have my son Lucas in them. It was a hot yesterday so we had just come in from the pool. I sprayed the birds down too which is why Max looks a bit rough around the edges. Mom, I'm still cute even though I'm wet!!! Eskimo kisses Lucas thinks Max is so amazing!
  17. So they are different because??? Is it opaline in the dutch? I guess this is another one that really confuses me.
  18. Well if your birds are Type 1 Daz, then my Star must be a type 1 and all of my others type 2. The yellow is definately restricted to her face and the colour seems to turn white again before at the body feathers. She has white on the back of her head. She looks a lot like your mom bird but is opaline. I don't care for show reasons because mine are just pets, I'm just really curious for learning how to properly ID. And because I find YF so confusing.

What a gorgeous budgie. I would have guessed cinammon violet recessive - the markings look brown on my monitor. And he looks very violet too. But whatever, he is absolutely gorgeous!!!!
  20. They are gorgeous Rainbow. I love them all but your yellow faces remind me of my Star and Wylie. They all look so pretty together. :)
  21. Oh Karen Look at the little darlings. I want to cuddle!!!!
  22. My guess would be dilute goldenface dominant pied (possibly spangle). Clearer shot of wings would help. What a pretty bird. More pics when s/he is settled. I'm still not sure of sex - leaning towards male.
  23. What a lovely budgie you have. I agree with the others. Lucky you.
  24. Can we have video of Buddha flying??? Pretty Please????
  25. Well the bird I'm talking about is Romeo. Below you see him as I first got him. Yellow on face and tips of wing feathers. Now the yellow is almost covering the entire body. He has had his first moult. In the second picture you can see the yellow in his chest. But his blue obviously still very blue I also have other yellowfaces. You can see my creamino female in the first picture with Romeo. She must be a YF2 because she has yellow all over now too (3rd picture). And then there are Star and Wylie. Both in my mind are the aqua(turquoise) colour so I thought YF2 for Star and Goldenface for Wylie. But Star's yellow definately stops at her face. Wylie is much darker and the yellow is definately bleeding and turning the aqua into almost a green (but not in the same sense as Bea's Ozzy who I think is a goldenface). Sylvester is also a YF - 2 I'm assuming. He reminds me so much of Wylie but of course he is dilute. . And then there is little Max. He has had his first moult and his mauve is turning greenish as his yellow bleeds down. First picture is when I first got Max. So are all of my birds YF2s?
