  1. Oh great news Nathan. You have wanted a successful clutch for so long now. Good luck on the rest. Abba is adorable!
  2. So sorry Nathan. Glad to hear you got the hand feeding mix. I really hope she will start to feed the next baby, but just in case you will be ready. I would be scared to put one in with Ariel again. Hopefully you can feed it until it chirps loud enough for mommy instinct to kick in and she can take over. And who knows - maybe it won't be necessary. Let's hope!

I was wondering the same about Jangles. Reep is so beautiful!
  4. Yeah Kirby. Finally babies. Can't wait to see the little critters grow up. Good luck concentrating in school today
  5. Love them all, especially those YF2 spangles. Gorgeous!
  6. So soon Kirbs. Can't wait!!! I'll be checking in tomorrow to see what action there might be.

Great pics Lovey. I think they are so precious all curled up. What a huge pied spot Merlin has. Was it always that big or does it get bigger with each moult?
  8. So exciting Kirby. Can't wait til they hatch.
  9. Welcome. Hope you enjoy your time here. It is very addictive as Lovey says. Lots of great people and lots of good information.
  10. Thanks Phoebe. I'm hoping that the water on the east coast is a little less potent! Day 2 and no more eggs!!!
  11. okay. Well glad to hear it. Thanks for the info!
  12. No, I put her in with a female. He is missing her though. Poor little guy! She seems okay without him.
  13. My creamino, Jewel, laid an egg yesterday. I noticed that she had been really interested in the fuzzy hut I had hanging in the cage. I had just removed her and put her in another cage because I thought she might be seeing the hut as a nest. She had also been very friendly with little Max. I had never seen them mate, but lots of feeding was going on. Her vent started looking red. I thought it might possibly be an egg but also thought she may have rubbed off the feathers going in and out of the fuzzy hut so many times. She seemed fine otherwise. Well last night I went to check on her in the new cage and sure enough a little egg was broken on the bottom of the cage. So will she lay more? If I throw the eggs will she continue to lay? Should I let her just sit on them (but addle them) so she'll stop - I read that in my budgie book. I do want babies someday but don't think she is old enough. I don't know how old she is because I got her from a petsore, but assumed she was a baby when I got her which would make her less than a year. I'm pretty sure that Max is about 6 months because of the changes in his cere. I know that under a year hatching babies is not good for their health but now that the laying has started, how do I keep her from laying more?
  14. Oh, so glad to be back. I've been trying to access from work on my lunch hours and no luck. Checked the home computer today and woo hoo - I'm back in. Missed reading this post Karen. Love the new budgies. Great pictures as always!
  15. I clip pieces of dry whole wheat bread in the cage from time to time - usually it is the crust which no one around here eats. Anyway.... they love it!!!!

Thanks for the website Lovey. I've decided on Flavius (golden-haired) and Finnegan (Fair).
  17. Beautiful budgie! Lucky you!
  18. What a great job you guys are doing. Wow! Look at all those budgies! Would you say that your budgies are predominantly blue based? I see some green but most of what appear green look like they may be yellow face on my monitor?

I think the new babies are both male. The ceres are both pinkish like my other recessives. I would like names that reflect their colours - but Sunny and Snowy don't seem to suit (my original choices). My mom suggested Fizzy or Soda for the White one. And they are real buds, always preening each other, so I would like names that are similar or seem to go together.

Sweet little Monty. Despite being dilute, his colour is so nice. And it is nice to be able to handle Daffy now. I wonder if Puddin' is a sky blue violet? She has lots of violet around her neck. And Mr. Max. His cere is starting to turn blue. And Romeo, so pretty. Just wondering if he and Daffy might produce a DEC? And now my newest babies. Still nameless.

Gorgeous - all of them. Especially the YF Spangle. And what is the mutation of the budgie in the picture immediately following her? YF Mauve?
  23. What a lovely new boy you have there!
  24. That violet baby is superb! I love her. I like Yasmin for a name. Lots of good choices Lovey.
  25. Thanks so much for this.
