  1. Hi Everyone, I've had my budgies less than a week now. They came from the petsore with clipped wings. I'm not sure yet how I feel about it. I had initially planned on letting them grow back in, but now I'm wondering if the budgies are actually safer with them clipped. I'm looking for some of your thoughts on this. Thanks so much!
  2. Thanks. When I look at the markings of the two birds, they look the same - my untrained eye. I'm not sure I understand opalines very well. What makes Tweety an opaline?? I have been looking closely at Sylvester. I do see a few spots of Turquoise on him. So when he molts will his all of his feathers be more turquoise in colour? Wow! He is already beautiful, but he will be a gorgeous bird if that is the case.
  3. Thanks for the link. I will definately check it out. I also stumbled upon this link http://www.geocities.com/budgie-place/p_colors.html and if I am interpreting the info correctly and the info is in fact correct, I think my birds are both dilutes. Not sure if there is anything more specific than that (ie. clearwing, greywing?). This is probably something for a new thread but I'm wondering if they weren't siblings and I were to breed them, would all the babies be dilutes?
  4. Here are a couple more shots of the birds (from side and back). Hope this helps with the identification. Thanks
  5. Great idea about the names. Wish I'd thought of it. I got help from my 5 year old niece with the names. She wanted Tweety (not my favourite but didn't want to disappoint her) so I thought I would go with Looney Toon characters (which is where Sylvester came from). Maybe my next will be Tazzy or Bugs. Who knows?
  6. I hope that someone can help me learn more about my new budgies - Sylvester (Yellow Green) and Tweety (Blue). The store told me they were harlequins and I paid more for them. They are supposed to be babies. I don't know if they are siblings. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you :ausb:
