New Pics - In New Cage
Yes, lots of blue. My favourite!!!! Any idea what you would like to add to mix up the colour a bit?

It's Me
Well I thought it was about time I put up a picture of myself. My 4 year old took this. Sorry it is so "in your face" but it is the best of the lot. I'm enjoying the stuff I am learning from you all about these wonderful birds.

The Khepri
I like that perch! Where did you get it? Who is the manufacturer.
-
Oswald
Oooh, can't wait to see his pictures! He sounds darling!

Flying Problem
I would definately check with the vet again. Could it be some kind of metal poisoning? I hope you find the answers and your bird gets better.

Spring Is Almost Here....
Lovely birds. Lilo's belly looks blue in the picture. Is that just a reflection. If not, wouldn't she be a recessive pied?
-
At Last - babies
Oh so sweet! Keep the names. They are perfect!

Blinkie's Night
I've said this before - Blinks is the most beautiful colour of blue!!!!

Pied And Dilute
All four of your birds are blue.. so no matter who was paired with who (of the 4) you wouldn't get any greens. And Sylvester is considered a blue because he is a yellow-face turning his green to blue (like Wylie)???He certainly is visually more green to me, but I see bits of blue throughout? This is really fascinating stuff? How did you guys learn all this?

Pied And Dilute
Thanks everyone for the help! I guess what I really don't want is a clutch of normal green babies. But with that pairing I wouldn't get any greens because they are both blue? So what if I replace my pied with my yellowface type II (see my signature)? What would I get then?

At Last - babies
Can't wait to watch the progress of your babes. Congrats!

I Was Bad.. What Is She?
Could she be a he? The cere looks bluish on my monitor? And what about a dilute? The overall body colouring looks very faded.

Pied And Dilute
And what is the difference again between a recessived pied and a dominant pied?
-
Pied And Dilute
So mating two recessive birds means you will get normals. Will they most likely be normal green? In order to get more dilutes I need to mate with another dilute unless the male is split for dilute? And in order to get more pieds I need to mate with pieds unless the dilute it split for pied? This is so confusing.

Woo Woo Be Do
I love them. One of them should go up for budgie of the month

All The Babies
OMG, you are so lucky. All of those birds. It must be so awesome watching them progress!

Where Did He Go!
:(Laughing out loud): Cute.

Pied And Dilute
Can anyone suggest what I might get if I were to breed my male recessive pied (body mainly white, cinnamon wing spots and head bars, and violet belly (looks blue on monitor but is visually violet), with my female dilute opaline (she is blue but not sure what colour of blue - sky maybe?) Tazzy (male) Tweety (female) I don't plan on trying to breed until 2007 - I'm just curious.
-
Breeding Activity
Since I've added the two other budgies the behaviour has stopped. I've seen Tweety crawl in the dish a few times, but she spends just as much time with the other two budgies. If necessary I can put a divider in the cage and separate them. Thanks everyone for your comments.

B"reading" Material
I did a double take when I saw your topic title. It is funny. I hope that you get some responses about a good book. I someday hope to breed my budgies and want as much info as possible before I do.

My Newest
Saydee or Sadie perhaps?

Is She A Girl?
Is the budgie a recessive pied? If so it could be a male with the pinkish cere. A picture would definately help.

Cage Setup
Here are a couple of recent pics of the big cage (especially for you Kirby). The birds seem very happy. They are playing with almost everything in it. I've made a few toys myself, and I've bought a few. Always looking for new ideas too. I want them to have variety.

Send Me An Angel
