I haven't seen pellets anywhere. I have tried chain stores, independents. etc. . I guess I may have to order online.

I think if you are interested in taming your bird, the closer it is to you the better. It will get used to the noise, seeing you move around, etc. As for outside, I would be careful. I've read some posts about cages getting knocked over or opened, and birds escaping or getting killed. I wouldn't even think of it unless I was going to be right there with the bird.

I've bought both Harts and Hangen premium seed. The premium seed has little bits of fruits and veggies and an tropican egg granules. They smeel delicious - especially the Hagen which has a citrus scent. But the birds seem to throw all of the "gourmet" stuff on the bottom of the cage, and eat the "normal" seed.

I've been buying the gourmet seed for my budgies but I'm wondering if I'm just wasting my money. It seems that they throw most of it on the bottom of the cage. Is regular seed enough if I feed them veggies and fruit.

What a stunning bird. My vote is for male. Hope you find the budgie you are looking for.

My birds seem to get that if there is any change in the water situation. I introduced a new water dish and I don't think they were drinking from it. The next day they had the sticky poop. I put the old water dish back and things went back to normal. I put my veggies in damp too so they can get the extra fluid while eating them. But it is probably good to have the avian vet check if it continues.

I think they are a couple months old. Bought them at a petstore. The clerk said they came in to the store in December and were just babies.

What a handsome little man. I'm guessing you are French Canadian. What about Cheri? Is that a literal translation for beloved?

I'm new to budgies, but that doesn't sound very good. I would take that budgie to a vet asap. I hope that it is just a passing thing and that the budgie will be okay. Keep us posted.

What a beauty. STUNNING! I'm think that Lovey is right about mutation. At least that is how things are on my monitor. You know the bird may be lonely. Have you considered another one. I'm so glad I got two. They are great company for one another. I think that single birds probably bond better with their humans, but if you can't be around all the time (my husband and I work) then it is nice for them to have one of their own kind.

Cute! Does Shadow ever fly into that big window? The first time I had Tweety out she flew into our big window. Now I keep the blinds closed.

Could the budgie just be exercising his wings? My two birds do a lot of rapid flapping of their wings at night - especially if they haven't been out of their cage to stretch their wings. It is probably best to have a vet look at the bird if this is a change in behaviour. It will give you peace of mind to know for sure.

Colour is similar to my mom's baby. Very cute!

So cute! I'm terrified to let my cat anywhere near the cage. It hangs at about shoulder level. The cat sits on the floor and stares up at them - I'm sure trying to figure out how to get in.
