So sweet. I can't wait. I put Sylvester and Bella in a cage together. I'll give them a month or two to bond and then I'm going to add the nest box. I can't wait. I might get my YF2 spangle.

What is a crop needle?

All of my cages have vertical bars. Mine don't seem to mind. I think it is good exercise for them too - a little harder to hang on.

Can't wait til you get home so we can have an update on your bubs. The crop in the first picture (link) is buldging. So cute!

Female budgie ceres change when they are in breeding condition. They turn various shades of brown and can become quite flaky. When they come out of condition they brown flakes off and can go back to a whitish colour. This could be what is happening with your girl. I don't have experience with budgies that old though. Can you post a picture?

I think you may be right. They are determined to chew through the plastic string it is strung on. But they are having fun so I don't mind.

I made this toy out of some acrylic jacks that my son was no longer using. It is a hit. The birds were checking it out almost immediately and have had loads of fun playing with it. Hey,check this thing out! Wow, it's cool. I want to see! Let me have a go at that thing!

Gorgeous bubs. Such strong blues. No spangles from your first set? Too bad! I LOVE spangles. Looks like you have 2 YF opalines in the first bunch and a normal yellowface. I wonder if they will turn turquoise like the parents. They look cobalt now. Looks like 3 cobalt clearflight pieds in the second lot. Cobalts? Greys? One normal grey? Can't wait to see more pics. I'm not expert - just guessing. Lovey, Nerwen, Daz, and a few others will be able to tell you for sure.

That YF spangle is a beauty. Great pics as always.

My favourite would be a YF spangle. The more aqua the body colour the better. Tying for second would be violets or YF recessives. I definately prefer blues, but have a few greens too.
