I was wondering about the toys. I have some in for Vester and Jewel but I wondered if I should take them out. Poor Sylvester does look bored when she is on the eggs even with the toys. He can see the birds in the big cage and when they are flying around in there he hangs from the side of the cage as if to say, "I want to play too." I've thought about letting him out to fly about but will he go back to the cage with Jewel? Or will he head for the big cage with the others?

I like the picture where Bubbles is chewing the mouse and Stewie is watching with that "what they hey?" look. Cute!!!!

I'm not one to join in these debates but like Phoebe said, In Canada we call them budgies. The difference at a petstore might be "normal" "fancy" or "harlequin" and then "University" which are supposed to be more tame. I wonder if the terms american and english budgie are actually used more in Australia and the UK then here in N.A. I had never heard the distinction before joining this site. They've always been budgies or budgerigars. I like the terms pet and show myself and I think it would cause a lot less confusion if this is what was adopted. Just my 2 cents.....

Pretty budgie but the beak looks a bit odd. Perhaps some of the other breeders will know more about whether or not it is okay.

I got some cute shots of my gang this weekend so thought I'd post them for you all to enjoy. My beautiful Kito is growing up so fast! Flavius having fun in a bowl of chinese lettuce. Pretty Tweety! She was cheeky that day and I had a hard time getting her back in her cage. Wylie being his usual snooty self! He is so green these days. Hard to believe he was the same colour as Star when I got him. Speaking of Star - here she is with Monty behind her. I hope to breed Monty and Tweety someday and get dilute blue babies. Sylvester hot after Jewel but young Max is trying to keep him away. I've since put Jewel and Sylvester together in a seperate cage and they are checking out the nest box. I tried Bella and Sylvester together hoping they would bond and I could get my yf spangle babies, but she wasn't interested so I've returned her to the main flock. Beka (dilute green) won't come out of the cage as usual. Romeo and Flavius seem so in love but I'm sure they are both males. Taz gets out of the way while Sylvester and Max spar over Jewel. Well I don't have any pics of Puddin or Daffy - two other scaredy cats. I find I usually get shadows in my cage pictures so don't take as many I like it when they are out and about.

Sad to see them. They are so cute! But hopefully you'll have some spangle babies soon.

I've noticed that a couple of my budgies have smallish nostrils and when their ceres get crusty they seem to cover completely. How are they breathing. Is this normal? Any thoughts on this appreciated. Thanks!

I use one and it really helps with the dust and smell - I have 16 budgies. I like the sounds of the water purifiers and may look into them. Mine has a hepa and carbon filter.

It's been a long time since I posted any pics. I didn't have the budgies out much while they were clipped but now that they are flighted again, they are out more.
