My budgies - especially the males- flirt with almost everything. Often the perches, mirrors, bars of the cage, other males, and of course the females.

Wow. That was one determined male. I actually just got video of one of my pairs mating this morning and i was short and sweet. He did his business and was off to eat.

How many birds do you guys have in total (not just budgies - everything?) Can't wait to see pics of your show budgie babies growing up. Well any new babies for that matter.

Congratulations. I feel for you guys with all that heat. I don't recall it ever being in the 40s here. High 30s and that is unbearable. Does everyone have air conditioning in their homes? AGH! Can't wait for pics of your setup.

It became a hit with some of the other budgies too. My budgies are spoiled with lots of expensive toys but they do prefer the simplest things - especially my homemade toys. Guess its like kids. You buy them expensive toys and they play with the box. Go figure.

OMG! This is so sad.

I wanted to post to this awhile back but didn't get a chance. So thought I would today. Look at the difference here... This is Wylie when I first got him (Feb 06) and now (Feb 07). And Romeo. He was just tipped with Yellow and now look. Max Before and After Kito my baby just a few months ago and now. Sylvester before and after. And my beautiful Monty. He was and continues to be stunning. Jewel The rest of my flock look pretty much the same as they did when I got them.

I've been worrying about the cold here. It has been around -20 celcius (-4 F) outside and the room I keep my birds in is cool (16 C; 60F).

Karen, any noticeable difference in size between a newly hatched show chick versus a newly hatched pet chick? Just curious...

Sorry for your loss. Did they pass away or fly away? I've heard the odd story about budgies that have escaped coming home and clinging to the outside of an aviary.

I think it is great that they get out to fly, especially if there are no hazards. Your room is obviously bigger than their cage and it is good for them to get to fly and exercise.

He's very pretty. I would love to have a grey bird. I have never seen one in person - just on pics through this forum. I'd love to see more pics when you can get your camera and computer to cooperate

I have 16 budgies - 50% of the sleep clung to the side of the cage, a few on top of swings, and I have one that ALWAYS sleeps upside down like a bat. I always chuckle at him. I was shocked at first too!
