Budgie Has A Sore Head
I can always tell that my budgies are about to moult when they start to get red and lose the feathers around the cere. The pins start coming out shortly after. It certainly looks like that in the picture. But if you are concerned, a trip to your avian vet should confirm what it might be.

Another New Budgie
Very nice. Is he a cinammon. The wing feathers look brown on my monitor. Also looks like he is a clearflight.

Goofy Has A New Name...
I love the head shots. I wish they stayed baby just a little bit longer - they mature so quickly!

I Finally Did It
I love your birds. Casper is really pretty. Nice that you can quarantine them but they still get to see one another.

My 3 New Budgies
Three lovely birds. I love the colour of the second male! And the violet recessive is beautiful. Looks a lot like my male Tazzy. Is she cinammon too? Nice additions to your flock!

Flying Pics And A Few Others
Well he is definately different than Max. Max looks grey and that is what I thought he was when I bought him. Biff I would agree is a yf1 sky. I have a cobalt and her colour is much darker with lots of violet throughout. Biff is very gorgeous though!!!!!

Breeding Age
I thought it was about 4 years????

Pictures For Kirby
I hope to breed Wylie and Bella some day. If I could get a yf spangle out of them I'd be thrilled. Right now Wylie seems interested in Daffy. But once Bella's introduced to them who knows? Yes, Jewels cere is a little brown which surprises me. I thought she would be too young ~ 3 months. She and Max are the best of buds! Maybe they'll pair off someday. Who knows what she is hiding under that ino?? It is fresh - picked it in my yard and no pesticides around. Thanks Lovey! Yes they have grown and remain good buds!

My Sweet Passion
Oh, she is pretty. I love her olive colour. She must be at least 6 months old. Does she have an iris ring?

Pictures For Kirby
These are for you Kirby. These were all taken tonight and many of the birds are moulting and look rather scruffy right now. Well here are a few of pretty little Bella. My two recessive pieds- Romeo and Tazzy! Here's Romeo with Jewel. And Romeo on his own. And with Max This one is cool - Romeo flew up and landed in some cut pussywillows - and Tweety was flying up to join him. I soon scurried them off because I wasn't sure if pussywillows were harmful to them. And here are Star and Wylie. They were so similar in colour before Wylie moulted and now look at them. Puddin' peeking in on Star and Beka And miss Daffodil hanging out! And my special Sylvester and Tweety!

Jasper
Cute. I have one bird of 12 that will climb through the rings. It always makes me chuckle to watch her.

My New Babies

Flying Pics And A Few Others
Hi Laura, It is actually a large maple branch. I put it in a pot and hung a bunch of stuff on it. They love it. Check out this post - http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....showtopic=10183 My little max is apparently a yellow face mauve dominant pied. He is striking. A lot of my birds are dilutes or white based, and his colour always catches my eye. He's still got his sweet baby look too! I would love to see a picture of Bif!

What Is Happening To My Budgie?
Very pretty birds. Glad they are getting the mite treatment and will soon be well. Do you feed them veggies at all. My birds love lettuce and broccoli clipped to the side of the cage.

Turned On Budgie?
I agree with Lovey. I've watched my males and females preen each other, my males preen each other, and my females preen each other. They all seem to evoke the same reaction of pleasure.

Yay! Olly Flew Back To Me!
I really think that time out of the cage is so important for training. My birds (the ones I can get out of the cage) are much more confident around me than when they are out of the cage. They run away from me when inside.

Spangle Babies Day Out In The Aviary
Karen, Goldie is simply brilliant. The DFS (or DEC) that I saw at a shop once was much darker yellow. She looks almost like a creamino. Are you planning on breeding her parents again? It would be awesome if you could get another like her.

Newest Member Of The Duck Butt Club....
My birds all seem to lose their tail feathers when they molt. I thought I read somewhere that it happens only sometimes with a molt. Should I be concerned?

My First Rescue Birdie :)
Thank you for rescuing him. I'm sure life will be much better for him now that he is with you. I have a female that looks very similar but has clear flight feathers. Have you added cuttlebone and a mineral block. That will likely help out with the beak. A calcium perch should help out with the nails too.

Pictures - Alot
Nice pics Lovey! You seem to have some amazing wildlife in your backyard. The boys look adorable as always!

Hommers Birds Z
What pretty spangle babies. How old are they?

Hommers Birds
I love your pics. The natural light is awesome. Can't get that with inside birds.

Another Question
I have two male recessives and I have noticed that the pink turns darker (almost purplish). They were almost fleshy coloured as babies but now have this purplish/bluish tinge. It is nothing like my regular males though which are definately blue.
