Still seeking older photos too via the Catholic Church Diocese and the Battye Library Archives. I am after photos that would show the original verandah detailing before they put asbestos panels into it as I would like to return it to its former glory. Before Photos 1950's Inscription on the back of the black and white photos ( from the friars ) reads “Friary, Collie. If you think this is no eye-piece, you should’ve seen it when we first arrived”. Meaning no aviary there yet. Will you quickly build one or can you move yours and take it all with you? lol I think I have led a sheltered live because I don't get the 2 head town thing either, But i think I know what jimmy means. There is a town near Bendigo called Heathcote and they reckon they are all inbred and really wierd people. Actually not all there in some way or another. Link to comment

Might end up being temporary aviaries there till we can do something better further down the track. Starting all over again. Moving.........will do the household move by removalists, and we will have to do the birds in one large move too, and yet another move we will have to do alone is my leadlight workshop glass and equipment. It will be hard work. Link to comment

So I am guessing you are stopping all birds from breeding now so they will be all in the aviary when ready to move. At least you can take all your cages and casings for the cages, that would save heaps of time remaking the casings. But gosh satrting all over again when you just finished your dream birdroom and aviaries but I guess the bright side is, you can do better this time and improve what you didn't like before Link to comment

I may end up with half the setup I had before. Most birds have finished breeding ready for the move. Worst part of all this is .....as there are less and less breeding I am losing my backups for fostering so fertile eggs and chicks that need fostering have nowhere to go. The birds will be in temporary accomodations for awhile once I move. We also have Kens parrots to move too. This is the yard I will have to work with Theres an old woodshed we can turn into kens parrot aviary for awhile This Theres a good shed in the corner that could be a part breeding room for awhile and we could put an aviary off that. We have an aviary here thats disassembled ready to be erected, and we have been told of a free aviary in the town that we can get too. Theres a bedroom I could use for breeding budgies in for a little while if I want. Edited November 18, 2010 by **KAZ** Link to comment

Because you see the white boys were already out crosses so they really needed to be brought back into the line. My white boy all year through me 2 from 2 nest nut with the same hen. So having 6 this time is great. The violet hen she has the same grandfather as the white boy (my wow bird) but her mother is out of white boys fathers (yellow Df spangle) full brother. Do you get this Kaz. But any way I am hoping for something good, the oldest is a white Df sp and the rest look spangle so far. My only problem will be suffusion but the oldest is looking good. Sorry back to your moving. Well good luck with it all Your new bird room might be the same size as mine, lol we can both swap ideas. lol. My is on hold till after christmas now, I am going to buy seed next week. I probable won't even get it finished before march the way i am going. Still paying the car too. You don't have a lot of room, can you move the clothes line. What's the building at the back of the house. Anyway I am sure you will work it all out. Link to comment

I will move the clothesline.....get rid of it and put a pull out one off a wall somewhere. The building is a single garage that will become my leadlight workshop. We have to build a double garage for the cars as well. My thoughts are build an aviary off that shed in the corner. Ken is also taking our spa so that will be in the backyard closest to the house. PS Amy .........have you had your baby yet ???? Settlement date is the 17th December so we will be offline internet wise over the Christmas period from the 17th dec. Moving will be a HUGE task and we will do it over tow or three weeks as the timing is cr*p. Not only do we have mountains of stuff to shift but we also bought old antique style furniture for the new house and we have birds to move as well and my leadlight workshop and hundreds of sheets of glass. Amidst all this is my youngest daughters wedding, last leadlight jobs to complete and Christmas. Edited December 1, 2010 by **KAZ** Link to comment

I did this two months ago, I moved from Melbourne to rural Victoria (Charlton), and I love it. My house is 115 years old, full of character and history, and we are not allowed to make changes to the front of the house or cut down a tree in the front yard as it was the first ornamental tree planted in Charlton. You are going to love it Kaz, and your new house is gorgeous and FULL of character, charm and history. Like you, I also moved a mammoth amount of stuff 3.5 hours away, lots of back and forth drives was exhausting, and it took two weeks to fully move. Go for it girl! Best of luck for a nice smooth move. Matt Edited December 1, 2010 by Matt G Link to comment
