Texas Clearbody

In the Texas clearbody variety, the color of the budgie's body feathers is diffused or absent, and the wing markings are dark at the top and fade to a light grey toward the tips of the wings. The standard for the Texas clearbody budgie is to have no color in the body feathers, leaving only yellow or white (depending, of course, if the budgie is yellow-based or white-based). The Texas clearbody can however, have some color in the body feathers of up to a 50% dilution. In this case the body feather color is stronger toward the vent and rump feathers.

Dont they mattdog. they are very unique specimens, i dont know which i like better the green or blue series. The last show i went to there were the nices tcb blue series, but after seeing all the green series as well, they are all awesome.

Clear something up for me here people? TCB - is it recessive? I have seen people breeding TCB's with albinos. Which shows?

Texas Clearbody is an allele of ino and as such is sex linked recessive. Another term used for this allelic occurance is 'par-ino'.

Thankyou Kaz I got the cock that was in with the lutino hen from a backyard pet-type breeder. When I was given the Lute girl and second cock later on as a gift from a club member, it turns out the two lute boys must be related! They definitely look related. Haha I just remembered I have another clear body in the aviary. I suppose more photos :rofl:
