New And Confused
Welcome to the boards and good luck with your show entry next year. Look forward to hearing about it. The hen looks mauve to me (which is a grey-blue colour) As to the yellowface - did you colony breed? or close breed?

New Budgie
pellets or sometimes called crumbles in aus, can work for some. A mixture of both is better than just seeds or just pellets. I tried to get my birds to eat it to help with weight but they wouldn't touch it. Other might be able to help with more info. As to toys, if you want to him him tame and bonded more ot you don't give him toys with a mirror. They bond to the bird they see rather than humans. Budgie seem to love the balls with bells in it or anything noisy like that Ones that can be chewed and/or shredded they like as well.

My New Girlies
Yes I have one spangle with big throat spots, his brother has smaller ones, almost not there. I can see the grey marking on the lower bit of the wings so it is confusing.

New Avairy
Good to hear all his going well still

New Avairy
Got me thinking as well, so I looked up my shire and found this: Pigeons and caged birds which require aviaries or large enclosures may be kept only in compliance with Council laws. An information sheet is available from the Customer Service Centre. Guess I should duck in soon and get the info sheet to learn more.

My New Girlies
Ahh I understand now Can we get a shot of her wings? I'm still seeing spangle markings. Are they both clipped?

New Budgie
Welcome Frollet I'm glad your little one is already happy with you. He may also be in a bit of shock and stress due to the capture and transport to your house, and now being all along. So try not to handle him often for the first few days. But if he happily hops onto your hand by all means don't stop him. Budgies live in a semi arid area of Australia and can go days with out water, and when they do drink it will be rare for you to see it. If you want to watch for it (to settle your mind) they will tend to drink late afternoons. As to the seed he may not have found the seed dish yet, if you don't have a grill on the bottom of the cage you can sprinkle some there for him to find. If you do have a grill a small dish down low might be found easier than the dish. OR you can put up a sprig of millet to the side of the cage near a perch, they love that and it will try him over for the next day or so until he settles and can find the seed dish.

Then you have hit the start of 'the creek' If you were unsure a test breeding to a normal would clear things up.

My New Girlies
Wow the violet is a stunning. Does she have a name? As to Austin (odd name for a girl) I see a blue spangle.

Finally
not at this stage, need some more fluff and pins. But I'm thinking cinnamon might be possible for the oldest as well.

Strange Budgie....
Yes it is a confusing picture but the yellow and green are the strongest under the wings where as in a yellow face it should have the most blue/grey. The colour showing on the chest could be reflection from the aviary. I would love a better picture.

What A Professional Aviary Looks Like
Don't we all just dream of space like that !!

Bluebelle
seems the breeder knows he has founds someone trust worthy of his bubs :fear Glad LBB is back he is a cute little one.

New Avairy
Daz your doing well with this, I think I would have been in a heap on the ground. Did you offer the guy a free baby :fear I'm thinking becuase you have power to the aviary. is this right?

Tinsel The Christmas Hatchling

Cant Work It Out
I would suggest you try putting them in different cages in different rooms and cover them over for a while. This is just an idea i thought of since I've not had this issue, when i keep Scuttle by himself while the others went out to the big aviary he didn't fret, he would call out to them as they all do with the wild birds but not scream for the others.

Dec
Lovey that is when you look at the eye like Feathers did to see the iris ring. But if the standard for Australia for DEC to have the ring as well, then it would be down to keeping very good records of your birds
-
Jj's Beak
poor fellow :budgiedance: I've not heard of that before but I've not had to hand feed any bub either. I would have thought the vet would have given some med to help with any secondary infections that might have started from the problem's.

Female Budgerigar Breathing Heavy And Green Droppings
It is hard to read and I'm, sure most on here feel the same as you. With sick birds posted here asking for help we first tell them to seek an avian vet. But still try to give either first aid advise or things that can help the bird survive for 24 hours or so in the hopes that the owner will be able to organize a vet visit in that time.

Dec
Well I would state a Dark Eyed Clear. Since males of DEC don't get the blue grown up cere.
-
Strange Budgie....
okay going against most of you here and stating that he can't be a yellowface 2. why? the colour under the wing is green and yellow, if this bird was a yellowface the colouring would be blue and white. As the blue remains true under the wings.

Routine Meds
Probiotics doesn't mix with cider vinegar or Avicleans. I didn't think of sprinkling Probiotics on the fresh food rather than the water, good idea Rainbow.

I've always seen colour on the wings Karen (seen the picture before) I put it down to the flash used.

Eyes
wow this thread seems to have gotten confusing for the new people If any one is lost please speak up, we are not trying to confuse people but simply learn from each other. My knowledge was that DEC (as well as rec pied and young) had no iris rings. Ino's DO have iris rings.
