I seemed to have lost a post anyway. The ones I got from daz (in eggs) are Elle, Czar and Minka.
  2. two weeks is a bit young still to be from mum. It's a risk with bigger bubs in the nest but they are hardy little things.
  3. sounds great if you do have an opaline then that bub will be a girl.
  4. very umm.. well the second one is cute. I liked how he flew around in a circle back to your foot.

Storm, another young one: Czar, young one: with Chewie, young one: Chewie, young one: Poka: Minka, young one: Group Shots: Pigging out: Girls corner: Thanks Bea. I did have all the pictures in one post but I had to fix one which caused dramas with the limit of pictures and then after getting them back together it didn't show the last lot of pictures so now they are split.

And I'm in Cab But I don't have any birds for sale at the moment. I would vouch for Daz's birds in a heart beat. edited to add: I remember your wanting more show birds. Right now any I would have for sale would only be half or 3/4 show
  8. Thanks for the update. I love your second hen ( the one from the first clutch) are you thinking of pairing her with her fellow? They both look a great size.
  9. Yes Melanistic Spangle is a new type around. Links: http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....showtopic=11563 http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....showtopic=10993 http://www.bestofbreeds.net/sbba/articles/attwood.htm here are some more pictures with tail: This one is Czar:
  10. I agree with Hurdy. Although spangle should have a iris ring there can be a few spangles that don't get them.

Interesting read, it seems your comment about hens being scared off the nest is what he is basically saying.

Your female looks to be rec. pied. You will only get rec. pied if your male is split for it.
  13. Yeah He has been like that since feathering, Czar doesn't have as much of a blue wash in his wing feathers.
  14. $50 seem a bit much for a clip. It is normally better to clip both wings, it still makes it so they can't gather hight and speed but doesn't add extra strain to the only clipped wing and unbalance issues. Maybe only asking for one bird to be done might reduce the cost? then you can see how it is done and do the other. Also if you know if breeders in your area that clip you could ask them for help.
  15. She is a yellowface type 2, there might be some bleed in of yellow into the blue making some green patches.
  16. Yes both still have the white tail like a normal spangle.
  17. Lovey - he isn't opaline from any info I have on him. Other M.spangles have a sheen of body colour in the feathers as well so I am putting it down to the mutation.
  18. All of the babies have grown up super fast. It's hard for me to tell Echo, Storm, Chewie and Berry apart. I have to check the gender then if there is a ring on the leg or not. Darelle is looking really super. I will have to get out there and take shots of them all.
  19. YAY feathers It sounds like a great aviary. Will be waiting pictures
  20. Budgies do sneeze and like most sneeze they come in pairs (or threes ) If she is sneezing often and over a few days it could be a sign of infection in the air ways which should be looked at by and avian vet.
  21. I agree with Bubbles and she is a recessive pied. It's great that you took her on from the pet store many others would simply leave her there wanting only the best looking on in the cage.

Yes I have heard of some people on here giving that amount each day for their birds. I think it only works with one or maybe 2 birds but wouldn't for a flock of them, becuase you would not be sure if all where getting their fair share.
  23. I looked closely the other day at Czar and Minka while in the aviary and was really surprised at that change in their wings! I think I got picture of Minka but unless I see the head spot I can't tell them apart. Here is a baby picture: The new picture:
  24. Flower sometimes it help to post about one bird first and keep asking until you understand then move to another bird.
