What Would I Get?
Yes you will get some like him, his daughters. Good point Hurdy. Clearbody is like half an Ino gene, it removes some of the grey pigments in the bird but not all. So the Ino and Clearbody gene work together as would two clearbody genes.

Class Ranks
How long are you in a certain class before you have to move up? Is it judged on a time frame or on your performance (how many trophies you have won) After hearing about the success of some of the member here ( ) it's crossed my mind.

German Fallow?
- Yellowfaced Pair Producing Normal Blues
Also keep in mind the DF yellowface (showing white) is only for the type 1 gene. http://www.gencalc.com/gen/eng_genc.php?sp=0Budg This site can produce possible outcomes from a pairing.- Hi Everyone
If I remember correctly Hommer has breeding cages set up inside the aviary of his birds.- Eggs?
Infertile eggs yes a a different colour to fertile ones, (as you stated with the opaque look) but to tell out of a group of fertile egg the one that is about to hatch, for me I've not noticed a differance- Budgie Rings
Daz is right, I've seen the plastic coloured rings in a lot of pet shops but also found metal split rings made by Complete Pet And Vet Pet Supplies that was also numbered. http://www.cpv.com.au/ for a contact number, if no shops sell them near you.- Identification Of Birds.
Thank you for that Sunflower - Lutino Jungle - Greygreen Normal Meadow - Green could be opaline, if the wings are marked with green then she is. Rainbow - Yellowface Cobalt Normal (could be type 2) Ocean - Cobalt Normal Sky - Dominant Pied Cobalt (I think he is Double Factor) Skylark - Dominant Pied Cobalt Ice - I think she is Violet Opaline Crystal - Sky blue Normal Cloud - Yellowface Cobalt Recessive Pied, possible spangle. Cloud & Rainbow: Yellow face normals (like Rainbow)/ recessive pied and blue normals ( like Ocean)/ recessive pied Rainbow would need to be carrying (split) for the recessive gene for any babies to appear like Cloud Sky & Sunflower: Dominant Pied Greens/ blue Males will be split for Ino. If sky is carrying (split) the Ino gene then you can get some babies like Sunflower If sunflower is split blue you can get Dominant pied blues as well.- What Am I?
with just that shot I would say cobalt. I know violet is hard to get right in pictures, but the cheek patches don't look dark enough and there is now purple hue around the neck or tail.- German Fallow?
is there meant to be a link?- German Fallow?
Well there is clearly a red eye. However the normal fallow gene turns the marking to brown, this bird looks to have black (possibly grey) markings. There is Ashen or Smokey Fallow that have the marking reduced to a light grey. I take you know the for sure the male is split Ino and not basing the fact on these babies. The fact that this bird is a pied as well makes it harder to work out since it's covering over some points that can be looked at to work out (colour of flights, tail and such)- Mottled?
I wonder which is correct that website saids the feathers lose their colour and my book said black colour is added. Bea - we posted together I'm not sure one which would be correct but I would lean to stand by my book which was written by a vet.- Mottled?
I also haven't seen a mottle bird in real life but all the pictures I have seen have been of recessive pied looking birds. The mottle locus ADD more black markings with age. You have stated that this bird is losing black markings. It's not the look of the feathers that matters. This guy might be a poor groomer or even have an illness (as well as the points that Daz brought up that relate to show things) I can't explain how he lost the markings, I've only heard of one other bird doing that on here.- Kims Kids
aww Taj is cute too, a stunning emerald colour :ausb: his kids might not get it, if it's nothing that can harm the other bird, he might have been plucked as a bub causing some feather issues.- I'm New Please Help Me Breed My Budgies
Welcome Neat and I hope we can help you onto the path of responsible bird breeding (if this is what you want to do) read thought this thread: http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....showtopic=13182 it give you idea on all that needs to be thought over before starting. http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....showtopic=13358 this one also has great information. I have a big cage is this fine to breed my daughters birds or do i need the avery If you are going to breed in a cage I would use only the parents in each cage, an extra male in the cage can cause interruptions and fights becuase he wants the hen or the hen or other male doesn't want him near their nesting site. I have not had dealings with colony breeding but others here have who may give you tips later. I didn't like the sounds of the added ricks and so never tried it. why do the boys ignore Snowwhite they are a bit "Too close" they mount and kiss and clean and all that stuff why are they doing it with the girl???? First are you sure you have two males and one hen? some mutations in budgies (recessive pieds) give the males a bright pink cere that are quite often confused for hens. If you can post pictures of the ceres we can let you know. If you do have two males, they are not gay but simply practicing or keeping up their 'wooing' skills. I watch mine all the time and the hens get mad at the flirting males very quickly but the males will happily spend all day singing to each other. edited to add - We must have been posting at the same time. I'm glad to hear you have already start to research.- Kims Kids
Stud - Yellowface type 2 normal possibly a visual violet. Muffy - cobalt Spangle possibly opaline as well Taj - just from his close up shot I would have to say green normal, but seeing the two together he could be clear wing. Puff - green spangle with a dilute gene as well All great looking birds, i love stud flirting in the together shot.- Pics Of Star And Wylies Bubs - Super Cute!
They are looking great. I love the pale blue one (bub 3) That one is going to be a stunning colour.- Mottled?
No this isn't a mottled bird, this is a dominant pied grey cock.- Look Who Came To Have A Look At My Breeders Today
Yeah it a Carpet Python. I hope he is gone or he gets removed soon!- Oops
Hi Kim, what a lovely tradition to happen, budgie chatter great to listen to. Glad you're liking this place.- What Would I Get?
Do you know the the male is split blue? If not: Green opalines/ blue Yellow Texas Clearbody Opaline hens/ blue If so: Green opalines/ blue Blue Opalines Yellow Texas Clearbody Opaline hens/ blue White Texas Clearbody Opaline hens- Identification Of Birds.
the pictures would help a lot more to working out the gene and what bubs would appear. It sounds like Cloud might be recessive pied, rainbow could be a yellowface(type one) mauve. Turquoise isn't a colour for budgies, so either Sky is a sky blue (which gets a slight green look to it) or a yellowface type 2. Once there are pictures it's easier to say.- Eggs?
I haven't seen any just about to hatch so not sure of colour, but the make a hole in the shell then circle around making a line and pop the top of it off. There are a few pictures around (most likely in the breeders chat area) showing one hatching. - Yellowfaced Pair Producing Normal Blues
