Difference Between Dec And Dfs?
I'm surprised no one until now has brought up the cere colours. Male Df spangles have the normal blue (grown up ) cere Male DEC have the pink baby cere colour always.

New Chicks
Woot look at her fuzz (matches well with mine :budgiedance: ) Both look great, I take it 'JENNI' is split recessive. or are you not after recessive at this point. The normal length of time for baby bard to moult out is 3-5 months. I'm not sure if the flecking shows up straight away or not. I have a feeling Reepicheep, a hen of mine had a clear cap but now has some flecking but I would have to re-check old pictures.

Eucalyptus [gum Tree] Branches For Budgies:
My guys got some branches from my front yard yesterday(sorry forgot the name of the plant but it's native and safe) I made sure it was wet before putting it in and they had a ball chewing it, bathing on it and climbing all over it. By that after noon they were bare and the floor littered with leaves. :budgiedance:

Genetic Expressions, Splits, Etc.
:budgiedance: Yes it is a different way to look at it but the end result is the same. I had to read it a few times over to connect the dots (so to speak). In the end if it helps you and others understand the fun game called budgie genetics then great

Zeuss And Sophie
Marlony you won't get any DF spangles since the mother isn't a spangle and the dad only give one gene to each baby. As well you will not get DF dominant pied becuase only Sophie (the mum) is the parent with the gene and as a SF dominant give either a normal gene or pied gene to her bubs. The other parts look correct to me. As to the opaline gene Zuess is only Split for the gene and so there is a 50/50 chance of giving the gene to his offspring. The hen will only give the gene to her sons, if they don't get the gene from their dad they will only be split for it.

Can Someone Help With The Type And Sex Of My Birds?
The differance with Spirit and Quake is they have already lost their baby bars (and the start of rings) where as Devo has the bars all the way to the cere and a LOT of white showing around the nares. I will still stick with hen

Could Someone Help Me With This Budgie Type?
the spangle gene makes the black markings on the wings into fine lines on the edges. (if you look at my sig it looks something like that) Greywings have grey markings on the wings and the throat spots. Most people new to genetics tend to mix these genes up.

Zeuss And Sophie
spangle markings might be masked by the opaline gene at the moment, should know more they are the grown. Zeuss

Could Someone Help Me With This Budgie Type?
To me she looks spangle recessive sky blue. The markings on the wings don't look grey to me or the throat spots. They look black.

Genetics Of The Dec
Good work Elly Yes norm a CLF/Recessive to a bird split for Recessive Pied can give you a chance of DEC.

Anyone Heard Of This?
I think it's the point system that is causing all the problems
-
Yf1 & Yf2 Blues:
I would say all are type 2 (or goldenface) All have some bit of bleeding, like the pied gene the strength and speed of the bleeding though of yellow is different to each bird.
