  1. Laurel Budgie ? Yes but never remember what it means Royal Opaline ? Yes but seeing pictures have never seen any differance to a normal opaline and so believe it is simply a fancy name some people have come up with. Red Eyed-Lacewing ? As Norm said - they must have red eyes to be lacewing continental clearflight ? As Norm said - we say Clearflight this is just the full name, they are also called Clearflight dominant and Dutch dominant seafoam budgie ? As Norm said - common name for Yellowface type 2 Scottish Fallow ? As Norm said - a type of fallow.

Sounds like she is sitting well Neat. As to saving your fingers use a pen to nudge her away :rip: Hen have to rotate the eggs daily. from inside the circle to the outside to keep the temp just right.
  3. OMG They are all SO cute
  4. Looks like a Fallow with the red eyes.
  5. That's GREAT for Pine Rivers.
  6. 1 - Spangle Dominate Pied Cobalt. I can't see any real signs of violet such as very dark cheek patches or hue around the shoulders. I think hen 2 - Spangle recessive pied yellowface type 2. I think male the cere is very pink all over. 3 - Yellowface type 2 Mauve. It's hard to say I would lean to male. 4 - Spangle Cobalt. The blue is a bit darker than normal so I think you could be right with violet. Male.
  7. The biggest differance is eye colour. Fallows have red eyes and TC (texas clearbody) have black eyes (with rings). Fallows can have grey or brown markings, while a TC have grey/clear flight feathers while the rest of the wings black. Yes you can get white Fallows and yellow TC's it just depends if they are a green or blue bird.
  8. They are still being feed from mum and dad at this stage. They will go in and out of the box for about another week or two.
  9. Congratulation's on your first jelly bean.

sounds good and happy birthday neat.
  12. Dilutes should have almost NO markings on the wings, match with the spangle gene which removed some of the black in the markings again I wouldn't think the marking would be that clear.
  13. It was fun. I can't make today to see ALL the birds from SEQ area. But it was great to see all/most of the club birds and talk more with the members Feathers - could they have asked a fellow member to take their birds?

Hi Neat, I'm around on here as well somewhere.
  15. Hug my little Steel for me (and zuess + bubs while you're at it)
  16. Interesting observation Norm Thank for that. It's good to know the vibe your sending out. I feel that I'm still deciding on which path I want, although my view on show budgies as being ugly and 'over bred' has changed I can see the beauty in them now. I have a hen that is from a show birds that is useless to me as a breeder (too old when I got her) and granted she don't fly as far or as well as my other smaller bird. But my other 2 'full' show birds do just as well as them, one is 3-4 years the other 1 1/2 years. So the behaviour can change for each bird and age. My oldest/first budgie is a pet type and she is now not as active in the aviary as she once was.
  17. I got that one wrong to, I just knew why they where called scalloped parrots once.
  18. okay didn't like that one the questions where a bit vague. I can't even remember my score :(Laughing out loud): 8 or 7 /10 Scallop - because that is the shape of the wing feathers markings
  19. Here is the May 2007 Budgie Of The Month! Sent in by: Hommer Congratulation Hommer! Three little cuties in a line.
  20. I've not heard if it before, I could see a male doing this more than a hen. Seems you have a very motherly hen
  21. putting wood shavings in the box can help with splayed legs and caked on poop to the feet and legs.

    Me too Una.
  23. Dad- clearwing yellowface type 2 (when you have yellow bleed though into the body colour turning the blue green is type 2) Mum- Spangle opaline green. She may have a dilute gene there too but I'm not sure. Bubs - 2 yellowface type 2 normals spangle cobalt spangle yellowface type 2 any male babies will be carrying the opaline gene.
  24. 3/5 for me
  25. Sorry Feathers your right I missed that bit.
