Breeding With White Budgies
As I have heard th hen is laying eggs so the fault is not her it's the male, try again and maybe block the nest off for a short while each day or try with a different hen.

Hi Hannah. We would love to see some pictures of your little guys. I love the surprises you get in a nest (your blue birds from two green parents)

Hi Kyle Great to have another budgie lover in the making. Don't forget to read up about suitable cage sizes for your future little friend.

Found Their Nest Box
Starchky might be opaline and looks to me either greygreen (leaning towards this) or olive. Margoo and Starchky - Greens and grey greens all split blue and dilute, unless hidden surprise genes show up. Hens will be opaline unless Starchky is too then both genders can be opalines. Elvis Gray Cin and Snow white - As Pie said. Prince and Ozzie - Ozzie is Spangle. Spangle green and normal green, unless hidden surprise gene show up. The small spot I think many are believing now means split for recessive pied.

Which Boy?
Bingle and Yodel are the boys, Twinkie is the hen?... I read that three time as Twinkie on the LEFT! okay I see Twinkie as green spangle, if the feathers under the wings are green it makes sense, they should be bluish if she was parblue. Goldenface, Yellowface type 2 and type 1 are all part of the Parblue gene.

Breeding With White Budgies
With the question albino male. What was the behavior to each other in the breeding box? two hens together with a viable nest box would normally fight each other for it. Since the hen was able to lay and sit on a clutch I would think then your male is infact male. Sometimes the hens will 'hide' in the box and continue laying clear eggs.

A Little Surprise:
Can we get a shot of the mum? I can see some markings on the wings of the bub and want to see if it's my imagination or shadows. (front and back would be good) As to the DEC 1 recessive gene or 2 ? 2 makes sense but when i was first learning about the gene I always thought it was only 1 gene needed.

3rd And Final Pair
That okay Elly We worked that out last night once Karen gave me a link to the 2nd pair thread

New Birds And A Few Questions
Cheeta you may be right! Looking again at the wing markings that are all close together (more a dominant pied trait). I don't see any colour around the neck area but DF's don't alway have to have that. Dmcminn can you answer the iris question please.

This Afternoon
They all look great Yodel has to be my favorite, same colouring as my Reepicheap.

Which Boy?
Err I think Twinkie and Bingle will give you NOTHING. To me Bingle looks male as well! Yodel look like a nice match.

Henry George
and I want to come and see! I missed out on seeing Henry's

2nd Pair - Romeo And Sebby
Yes Fallow is recessive not sex linked so all the babies will be split for it. I think she is a violet fallow. With the spangle gene idea, the wings seem to have the markings. Does she have a white long tail feather under the grey one? Sometimes a fault can happen to give one coloured tail feather to spangles. Since she is set up for breeding you will know fore sure if a spangle appears in the nest

3rd And Final Pair
I thought we where talking about Milly? I can see the red eyes in Sebby. A shot of her wings would be good too, there are a few markings that look to be spangle.

New Birds And A Few Questions
Love the name Brewster (a perfect match ) Yes she is a yellowface type 2. Hugo is a recessive pied, and might be violet as well. There is a differance, recessive have colour patches around their rump area and a splattering of wing markings. Also they do not get an iris ring or the grown up blue cere for males. Have a look at Kaz's Twin thread those two babies are dominant pied.

Twins...... Two Dominant Pieds From One Egg
Very cute I can pick  I'll be coming over for Steel (him) and Mammoth!

3rd And Final Pair
I don't see red in the eye for fallow Elly. It is possible for her to have the violet gene. Sometimes Cinnamon can look grayish in the wings. It's a bit hard to tell with these pictures. However Cinnamon is a sex link gene and so she will give it only to her sons (split for) if she is a greywing then she will pass it to ALL her babies (split for) Not exactly He may only have 1 YF gene and 1 normal blue gene. Paired to the hens 2 normal blue genes some of the babies can be white faces while the ones that get the YF gene will be yellowface.

1st Pair - Angel And Ozzy
Is he darken in real life than in the pictures? If not I would think he is only a dark green. (1 dark factor) I believe Elly means he needs to have the blue gene too to have Albinos. If he does have the ino gene you could get lutino's (all yellow)
