  1. seeing the non flash they appear more violet. used the WBO colour guide to look closer: seems violet is a match
  2. All i see is even pink all over the cere.
  3. on the left: cobalt recessive pied on the right: cobalt Opaline male
  4. fantastic news !! Congratulations. which bird won??
  5. i've not heard of any. would be nice to see it again
  6. love the name but you have a male. Green Recessive pied
  7. light green opaline cock X grey-green violet opaline hen do you know if these birds can be split blue? that could give you the grey-violet chicks
  8. sounds like a person who is doing something they love.
  9. http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?showtopic=31276&pid=370681&st=0entry370681 there is someone on here looking to sell some of their's. it will give you a base start
  10. do they have names?? that will help us tell you which one we are meaning. the yellowface (which you seem to have picked the term up fast) is the bird in the first picture looks female as I stated. the other looks male to me. He is an opaline and also a dilute gene is involved but maybe greywing?
  11. sorry but I state the yellowface is a girl there are still bars to the the cere on her head! if the bird is that young it should still be bright pink for a boy
  12. yeah Maesie, the first is still a great phone too.
  13. it is clearly an iris ring and not part of the skin around the eye.
  14. I want a galaxy S 2 - it is super fast and the screen is HUGE. I know of people very happy with their iphones as many are however I also know of people that have changed to this phone after having an iphone and LOVE it (and these people raved about iphones being the best) my soon to be Better half has it already for about 2 weeks and it has work wonderfully, fast, smooth to move around the screen and the battery still last long enough that it isn't on charge all the time
  15. well I'm not willing to pay the $25 entrance fee just for that. oh and there is ALWAYS a raffle at the Ekka. thanks for the info Ellie
  16. cute little ones, great work maddy sorry about the one you just lost

    * goes hunting for appropriate place* Love the grey spangle at the bottom (but that is one of my fave combinations)
  18. normal grey Skyblue normal cobalt dominant pied
  19. black head - normal blue Pink head - is a TCB like dad.
  20. moglet - Opaline is a sex linked gene. to get a Opaline from this pairing it means dad is split for the gene. Males need two of the gene to appear as Opaline so it rules out cock for this chick.
  21. agree with that Matt.

sounds like you have a great little friend in the making there. the cage is wonderful! don't rush into making the cage changes as you want 'her' to settle okay as you have just removed her from all that she knew as safe and home. Since you live in aus you could look at swapping some of the branches to natural ones (there is a list around here somewhere of what is good.) seed on the ground is great as they take a while to find the dish. don't stress about the shell grit - sometimes it is in the seed depending on the type you have. keep the millet as a treat and for training such as eating it from your hand - that way she learns you are fun to be around and the talk is great, every time you are around her or even walking past just talk so she is use to the sounds around your house and your voice. I can see you are going to be a great budgie mum.
  23. sorry moglet it isn't real, just a budgie enjoying the calcium branch a bit too much. she is a normal cobalt.
  24. I think this 'blueface' gene will be a hit
  25. I've not seen a show cage for a while but I was sure the dowel rods are just screwed in from the back. Can't the dowel be changed to the different size?
