  1. looks like normal wear and tear, nothing to worry about. The beak doesn't seem to be overgrown.
  2. Homozygous means - identical alleles for a single trait. another way of saying DF dominant pied. i would still stick to a normal dominant pied - you will get a nice mix in a clutch rather than all pieds.
  3. agree with kaz.
  4. flip - say girl too.
  5. maesie - when i get a bump to show off I will see about posting one. Flip - yeah that is about right, i think the bit to the right is part of the cord..might be wrong, but bub didn't want to show off the feet when the scan lady wanted to see them.
  6. Thanks all It is going to be a fun year.
  7. Hey all, thought I would share some good news with you all. I'm currently 12 weeks pregnant with my first child. I had a second scan yesterday that showed all was well and the little he or she even gave us a wave.
  8. glad you have him, sound like you have done a great job in fixing the mites issue.
  9. wood shavings - you can get from a pet shop in bags normally with rabbits or guinea pigs on them. others use oats
  10. i think it is just due to the spangle gene. it has been a while since I breed one myself and after looking at my pictures it seemed i didn't have one at the same age to compare to however flight feathers on spangles are mostly white which would explain the bare pink area on the wings, a few more days should have a black mark starting to appear on the pins (which you can just see in that second picture)
  11. Atherton doesnt mean much to me coming from W.A. and when I googled it there was several athertons. opps didn't think of that, and there is plenty of times where I've had to Google a place from here.
  12. City is stated as Atherton in the profile details. Good luck with the hunt, they are a great type.
  13. *edit* seems my post showed up....

so sorry to hear the of his loss Riebie. I'm sure he is still there watching over everyone.
  16. seen them on line but not in real life. i don't care for them myself.
  17. i saw the second picture too, i thing that was only due to the flash used, the throat spots where not brown.
  18. i disagree with cinnamon. i think that is due to the baby feathers still, wings should darken when she moults.
  19. yes she is a girl the cere is just turning brown. hens do tend to get a bit bossy and make the dolphin noise more often then males. (hi Riebie!)
  20. it is still young (7-8 weeks seems about right) as you can see the bars on the head and the immature throat spots. So the bird hasn't had it full adult moult yet which happens from 3 to 6 months. i believe you have a hen.
  21. The cage is awesome, I'm sure she is loving the branches as well.
  22. they look great, how is mum and dad going with the chick (s?)
  23. O_o My mistake it is a dominant pied. been a while since I made that error.
  24. they look great and i love your puppy! (have a soft spot for Dalmatians)
