  1. Apollo is yellow face type 2 (spangle opaline like you stated) being that bright in colour i would think sky blue. baby1 - just like dad. baby2 - yellow face type 2 cobalt Phantom - is finding a new home with me with colour he is hard due to the DF spangle, he could be violet or mauve looking at the bleeding into the body colour. last baby - yellow face type 2 grey. as to the other two: both golden face recessive pieds.
  2. you need the violet gene to get violets.
  3. hi Sandi - he is wonderful! good luck with the bonding. as to colour you have a yellowface type 2 spangle.
  4. depends how safe he feels around you and your hands. I would try first spraying him with some luke warm water - that will cause him to start grooming himself which can make it come loose. mine have never had banana.
  5. she is a cutie. do you know her age? As for a partner to get more like her - violet normal or a golden face cobalt.
  6. she states the above in her post Fordmob. this clearly has to be connected to the yellowface gene.
  7. read that whole post scream for pictures - glad i saw the link at the bottom they look AWESOME! i would love the see the so called 'green' bird - perhaps it just has a strong tone to the body feathers but is still a blue based bird (guess breeding will reveal that) now for the white faced green to appear!
  8. 1- cobalt normal male 2- yelliwface type 2 opaline hen 3- Lutino 4- Albino 5- Skyblue normal 6- Skyblue cinnamon opaline hen 7- grey cinnamon male (based on your comment of brown wings, cant see it in the picture)
  9. all stunning birds! some of the lighting colour appears to be off in some of the pictures making it hard to guess. Cosmo - believe you are correct with Dominant Pied Sky blue. yes she is a hen. Amy - a shot of the tail would help. looking at the group shot she is Opaline as well. Sky blue but i believe she may be cinnamon not part of the dilute gene family. Leonard - first shot make him look like a yellowface. second shot a cobalt normal Penny - violet Opaline Sheldon - hard to say as i'm not sure of the photos have washed out the wing pattern or he is like that. I would agree with violet clearwing
  10. i would not consider adding MORE birds to the mix a good idea to solve anything. You might, after trying these suggestions, look at separating them. Do they get out of the cage at all for any play time?
  11. jut thought to post one of the picture up for others to see on the page (some don't click links) Love the name Bernie. Most budgies are quiet to start with as they get use to the new environment. Make sure you talk to him all the time when walking around the cage or changing any food/water.
  12. HE is stunning, I would steal HIM in a heartbeat. Have you found a name for HIM yet.
  13. when was the last time you rearrange the cage or swapped toys around? this could settle them down as they loss their 'favourite' areas and have new things to explore.
  14. is it only at bed time?? mine always fight over the highest spot to sleep as budgie feel safer higher up, but as they are outside they have while the sun is setting to sort out who wins. You could remove the spot they are fighting over - if that is it is the swing I can seen in the picture or use a small soft night night might settle them down it could be issues over the sudden lost of lighting.
  15. your lutino is a baby hen - her cere as Kaz stated will start to go brown around the age of 5-6 months. the second looks to be a greywing. as to pairing them it depends on what you are wanting from the pairing.
  16. wonderful shots - love the last one
  17. best of luck..sure you don't need it.
  18. he looks TCB to me. and I've an idea - ship him to me i would lean towards using the Goldenface skyblue opaline. you can find out if he is slpit blue, and if so then get a mix of blue, greens and yellowfaces. the sons will have Opaline and tcb gene to use with others to get a nice mix. EDIT- 2nd thoughts these two hens could be good too: Green series lacewing - inos could appear if he is split for ino (tcb is a par ino gene). Goldenface skyblue violet opaline cinnamon - same as the other yellowface above but split cinnamons sons as well. .
  19. bit far for me to travel but i wish you luck on the performance.
  20. glad all is going well. i sate the two above are female as well
  21. i thought that too Amy. as for the yellow face - he is type 1
  22. they all sound wonderful! and very lucky to have you. re: danny's legs - that can not be fixed, the only time that has a chance of correction is in the nest. I believe the use of wider flat perches help with these guys moving around and sitting up like a normal budgie.
  23. you have stated two sex linked gene, lacewing and TCB, if you really want them in your flock fast then you would be best matching Poppy to a TCB as that pairing would give your TCB hens and males split. the fact Poppy is a dominant pied might not mix well with the TCB gene, due to lost of markings on the wings and patched body colour, but it depends what gene you want most in your flock if you used a TCB hen (or even a lacewing) with Fern all you can get is split males.
  24. Are these the only bird possible to be the parents. can we see a picture of the chicks (normal and spangle) kaz - if the pied genr is in the mix couldn't the cere be affected??
  25. yes Ailes - that is my point. a smooth pink cere of a male.
