Hope your house is still standing
  2. I use a premium Crest mix. I have been told by a breeder that Trill is very low in quality.
  3. Daz replied to Bea's topic in Cage Discussion
It should. Put it on low for about an hour. Keep checking them so you don't cook them.
  4. Link to the Birds section there is also some good articles.
  5. Daz replied to Bea's topic in Cage Discussion
Yes but make sure you dry them all day in the sun before you use them.
  6. We have a few here in Australia. Vetfarm comes out with some. Do you get this brand in Scotland?
  7. Cheeky it might pay to spray around the cage and on the perches with a good Avian Insecticde. To get rid of any other mites.
  8. I agree with Bubbles, I think too many people panick when faced with scaley face because it is an ugly desease/inflection. It is easy to treat your bird and get rid of it, the real problem is to get it out of your aviary. If you want to use a medication. Vetafarm produces Scatt and from what I hear from beeders it works. But you need to treat your perches, cages and breeding boxes. I use AVIAN INSECT LIQUIDATOR around the aviary, breeding cages and nest boxes. I should contact Veta Farm to see if I could get a spoters fee,
  9. Hows Oscar going today? It should be just about gone by now.
  10. Cindy what you did was exactly right. I have taken a nest box away from a pair that is tending their second clutch of 4 I don't want her to have another one so I removed the nest box. She laid another egg today. I don't have another pair to give it to so have it dormant. Nerwen do you want it. It is will probibly be a yellow face Sky blue or cobalt. 50% ganzer 50% gearing. Give me a pm.
  11. I will just use 1 2 3 and so on. If I am going to foster the egg I will also put the breeding cage no where it came from so 3 becomes 5.3 Meaning it was egg 3 from breeding cage 5.
  12. As I have posted before, for low type infection use petrolium jelly or baby oil. It will help and is not toxic.
  13. ooopppppss now that you brought it up..... yes i have seen one or two yellow head spots... :budgiedance:
  14. Daz replied to a post in a topic in Breeders Discussion
Show Breeder breed not because the birds like it then but because of the Show Season.

  17. Well I will only use pairs 1, 3, 6 & 7. They were set up on Saturday and though the hens have been checking out the nests it is a bit early for eggs.

  24. The guys at the club said this is the perfect time to set up the birds. A long dry spell and then rain. Just what nature had programed the birds to breed in.
