Eterri I hope you get through this Buracratic Nightmare... But if it helps.. Maybe some flatt packs. Joking
  4. Don't worry about the air bubbles that is fine. Piece and quiet is the best for them.
  5. Kirby I want you do to some thing very difficult... Leave them alone now for a day. With out looking. It will give the hen a chance to come to terms with feeding. Yesterday morning I lost a 5 days old chick. It was the 2nd of 4 that hatched. I don't know why, it was well feed as where the others. The fifth was born yesterday afternoon about 5 ish. I've let the hen deal with it and this morning it was well fed as the others. I big rule is that nature can look after it self (Quote from Jurasic Park). We only need to be there in case there is a hick up
  6. I just rtead this Kirby. i am sorry for your loss. You should have another chick hatching tomorrow or the next day. I would leave it in the nest for a couple of hours if you check and find that it is not being fed. Make up the mixture to the recommended dose and temperature. Dip your fingure in and let a drop or two on to it's beak. It should start to feed. Do this for about 5 to 10 drops, don't rush. Then put it back in the nest. Do this every hour until the hen starts to feed it. All the best. Oh try a couple of bread squares, 2 cm square, soaked in milk with a little sugar sprinkled on to it. Get this to the hen, it's supposed to help bring on the crop milk.
  7. Congratulations Kirby. Hope all goes well.
  8. Great Idea, thanks VippiN
  9. It sure is Cindy and I still get that feeling.
  10. Flyer, asking "Are My Budgies Going To Have Eggs" is like asking if it might rain tomorrow. We will need photos and a discription to their habits. What Nerwen is asking is part of the courtship. Let us know what they are doing and we will do our best to give you an educated answer. ....and please don't use short cuts.
  11. I've got 4 chicks waiting to hatch in one day... will it be tonight, tomorrow????
  12. Daz replied to *Nerwen*'s topic in Budgie Pictures
Yah go Poka... I love it when you put up his picture
  13. Cindy they are beautiful.
  14. Sorry Karen I don't like any of them can you come up with more? :fear just kidding
  15. Thanks Terri good article. I suppose it's a bit like us. My perfect weight is 82kg but when I got to it I was deemed under weight for my size. A bettter weight for me was 85kg. unfortunately i'm back up to 90kg. Got to do more excersize. Same with Budgies. A short fat budgie could be over weight but a tall long bird could be under weight. George flys every day 24/7 unless sleeping and has a 260square meter aviary. Some say he is fat. Can't see that as he is on low fat see with vegitables. He gets millet once a week and some oats occasionally. It's just his build. As put in the article he doesn't pant after flying.
  16. Thats Great Flyer , can we see some photos so we can answer your question?
  17. Daz replied to Bea's topic in Health Questions and Tips
Bluey didn't throw up it was diarea that had me acting. Aparently the main effect was in his bowl not the crop. Have you tried some comfort food. Some millet perhapse. What did the vet say about the feeding with the treatment she is on?
  18. I understand from my club that it is general practice for breeding pairs. Just as Hath put it.
  19. I don't think that is a good idea but I have had no experience with it and haven't heard it before.
  20. Daz replied to Bea's topic in Health Questions and Tips
Yes that is correct. Budgies can go over a month with out water. If you are using water soluable medication you have to monitor the usage and adjust to suit. I was lucky with Bluey that he drank his water. I had him retested 11 days after starting the treatment and received a negative result to canker. I hope all goes well with your little one and your flock. I have my whole flock treated at the same time as Bluey. I went looking and found the post. >link< Bea look what you asked Link wow what a question for now. :dbb1:
  21. You know what ...I have to agree... :dbb1: I didn't even look at their ceres. Can I change my answer to no - thing. :ausb:
