Paediatrician Visit
It matters if the school decides to spend the funding on the child, my hubby was talking to a mother at the school who has a child with aspergers and she told him to money the school got for her son was spent on sporting equipment.

Paediatrician Visit
Thanks Dave for your advice, he is getting his assesments done next month which will hopefully let me know what his needs are and then i will be able to talk to the school and see if they can help me. My problem is that the school i want him to attend does have special need support teachers but they do not have the resources to have a career in the classes all the time. The school is a Independant school so they seem to do things different to the public system.

A question???? If you do what you have suggested above, and then enroll him the following year, because of his age, wouldn't you have to enroll him in grade one??? Not prep? AND wouldn't this kind of defeat the purpose. Holding him back because he is not ready for school, but then when you send him, unless you have been able to teach him everything that get taught in their first year of school, then he will still be behind???? I'm not having a go at the idea, just trying to get my head around it I am not sure about that, i would have to talk to the principal of the school and see what happens. If i did homeschool i would have to teach him everything that he would normally learn at school. He is very smart but his social and emotional development is delayed which is why i want to hold him back. He has no problems learning if it is one on one but he hates groups so put him with a classroom of kids and he would get anxious so he would misbehave.

I have been thinking about that option MB. If my application is denied then I will explore the idea of homeschooling for a year.

Paediatrician Visit
Why is it just when you think things are finally going your way more problems arise? The principal of my kids school got in touch with me today to imform me that he had made a mistake, it is not easy to hold my son back from school and i am the one who has to organise it not the school. I have to send a letter to the dept of education and training with documentation supporting my decision of wanting to hold him back. He said that it most cases the applications are denied so that is not giving me much hope. I am so worried about what i am going to do if they will not let me hold him back a year. :hap:

Roxy Drinks Alot
It is amazing, i love all my budgies but the bond i have with Roxy is much stronger. At night once all my kids are in bed, i take Roxy to my bedroom and watch telly with her, she loves to sit next to my lips so she can kiss me and puts her head on the side so i will scratch it for her. When she gets tired she falls asleep tuck under my chin. With some of the days i have with my kids it is so relaxing to spend time with her.

Roxy Drinks Alot
I think the stains are more from food, when she eats she likes to get her face right into the food. I took some pics of her eating her tea tonight, she was well behaved tonight normally you cannot see her cere either

Roxy Drinks Alot
Roxy does have me trained very well and knows that if she keeps rejecting the seed and vegies i offer her during the day i will give in and give her the soft food. i know she is very stubborn and will hold out and not eat if she does not want to. Her feather condition has improved abit now i have been giving her egg but she still is looking scruffy.

Roxy Drinks Alot
Her poos are a little bit runny and light brown in colour but when i can only get her to eat mashed egg with rearing food i think that is why they look that way. She does drink the water. I tried putting seed on my hand and offering it to her but she decided to pick all the seed off my hand and throw on the floor.

Roxy Drinks Alot
Roxy has always like drinking water but lately she seems to be drinking more than normal. I thought it could have been to due to the weather getting warmer but even on the cool days she is still drinking lots. Is that normal for some budgies to like their water?

Roxy Will Not Eat Seed
I thought the same thing Liv, that she would eat because she is hungry but she has days where she will not touch her food at all and at night when i give her egg mix to her she will eat until her crop is bulging. I have seen her crack seed and eat vegies so i know she knows how to eat. She loves bottle brush and eats the leaves when i give them to her.

Scaly Face
I treated my budgies 3 weeks ago with Ivermectin for scaly face but one budgie has not improved. Should i treat again or wait a bit longer?

Roxy Will Not Eat Seed
I thought i would give a progress report on my stubborn girl Roxy. She is still not eating much seed. During freeplay Runt and her spend alot of time together and she sometimes lets him feed her so i thought i would try to put the 2 together in a cage and see if she would learn how to be a budgie from Runt. The first day went well and she would watch him eat and then go and eat a little. Then she decided it was more fun to pick the seed out of the container and throw on the floor of the cage. On the second day she became lethargic and stopped eating. She started doing black runny poos and was sitting in the corner of the cage fluffed up. She really scared me so i seperated her from Runt and gave her some rearing food which she started eating straight away. Within a couple of hours her poos had gone back to her normal colour and she was sitting up on her perch happily chirping away. Now i am giving her seed and vegies which she eats a little bit and mashed egg with rearing food mixed in. I have tried giving her the egg without the reaing food but she will not touch it. If i do not give her the egg mix at night her poos are watery the next day so she needs her egg mix. It looks like I am going to always have a very fussy girl. Only problem is her feathers are still not looking good but i hope that will improve with her first moult. she is 4 months old now and has still not gone through a moult. Is that normal?
