I have not yet because i have been waiting till all his assessments have been done so i can decided which would be the best group. There are a few support groups around but they are set up for different areas of autism , i hope that makes sense. My hubby's boss's wife works with special needs children especially autistic children and she has been to alot of seminars so they are coming for a bbq tea on Saturday night so i can talk to her.she has also given me a voucher for getting a full neurological test valued at $375 done for half price which is awesome.

That is a great idea, i have pvc pipes with caps on the top and bottom in my aviary but they do not hold much water, i going to swap them to buckets now.

I thought they gave you the okay to have him stay home? The school principal of the school got in touch with me again and told me he had made a mistake, that it is a very hard to get a child held back from school so it looks like Jadon is going to have to start kindy next year. The school principal is going to get the special needs support teacher to get in touch with me to talk about Jadon and how we can make the transition from preschool to school easier for him and what areas he will need support in. The preschool director would lke her to go to the preschool and watch Jadon and talk to the them about what they do in different situations so i really hope she will do that for us. I am going to be busy the next few months making sure that they will have in place at school the support he does need and because he hates change i am going to try to organise extra orientation days. i also going to spend the next few months worrying that we are making the right decisions but i feel i have no other choice. Hubby was speaking to one of the teachers at the school and his son has autism and has been getting all the support he needs and he has had him at another schools before the private school and found they have all had the same in their level of support so that has make me feel a little bit of hope.

Thanks kaz, they look like great ladders. He has been in a cage by himself for a while now so i want to make the introduction back into the aviary easier for him.

Thanks for your suggestions i have a seen some big ladders at the pet shops so i will have to get some for him and rearrange the food and water so he can reach them.

For the last couple of day i have been on the phone to the dept of education and training, the school principal and Jadons preschool and feel like i am getting no answers or help. It seems like i have no option but to send him to school, personally i do not feel i have the patient to homeschool and the dept of education and training says that because of government funding for kids with special needs there is no reason why he should not to be able to attend school. Now i am really stressing out and trying to work out my next step.

I am wanting to put Jack who is my budgie that has all the issues with the broken beak and lost feathers due to a cyst. He is still missing some of his beak but i do not think it will grow back. He has learnt to eat with the beak he has which is good. His feathers have still not all grown back yet so he still cannot fly but i would love to put him back in the aviary.How could i set my aviary up to be able to help him get around the best and i was wondering if anyone had photos of a aviary setup for a budgie that cannot fly?

Even though i know Dave looks after his budgies well, they will still go through the 30 day quarantine period. I have a enclosed screen area at the back of my house that is 10 metres from my avairies so that is where Dave,s birds will go and i only have a couple of small cages for quarantining so i have also borrow a very large cage from a friend so i can quarantine them all.

Early this year i bought 4 young show budgies intending to breed and get into show budgies but due to personal reasons i have had to change my plans so for the time being i will just have pet types.

I have decided that i do not have the time to go into show budgies or breeding at the moment and are just going to keep pet types so i am giving Dave my 4 show budgies. 2 males and 2 females.

Very cute babies, looks like they love their vegies.

I am very excited, after lots and lots of PM's between Dave and I, we are going to swap some budgies. I am going to be getting 10 new budgies on Saturday and i cannot wait. Hubby asked me last night does he need to start making plans to build me a 3rd aviary. Dave is going to have a interesting trip travelling for a couple of hours with 10 budgies in his car.

sorry to hear about all the issues you are having with your budgies, i hope things improve for you. I think the mating is normal, in July i had brothers and sisters who were only 5 months old mating with each other.

i am not sure what your hubby is talking about. On my bill it has written how much kwh per day i use which varies form 24.8 to 33.5 depending on what time of the year it is. I have a 4 bedroom house with a airconditioner. Maybe nsw electricity readings are done different to vic.

i was just looking at my bill and i have 2 numbers, one is for off peak price plan which must be my hotwater system and the other is for residental price plan. Which number are you after and the daily usage or the 90 days usage.

Your 4 year old sounds so much like my 5 year old, last week when i was trying to talk to him he walked away and pointed his backside at me and told me to talk to the butt, i told him i was going to smack the butt not talk to it. My 13 year old son taught that one to him.

I know this is a old topic but Jadon my 5 year old came out with a funny one this morning that i had to share. He was getting very emotional so i was trying to calm him down and talk to him and he told me" stop saying so many words at me Mum or i am going to get a word headache"

Did not have a very sucessfully day with the seed yesterday with Roxy but i will just keep trying Elly's method .She did eat some of the egg and vegies though. I did not give her soft mix last nigt so i hoping she will wake up hungry this morning so we will have more sucess with the seed.

i am sorry Neat but even though i have 4 kids i have no good tips for you. i am having the same problem with Lucy who just turned 3. My older 2 are 13 and 10 and they were easy to toilet train but Jadon who is 5 is still having accidents but he cannot help it. Lucy refuses to wear her dora undies i bought her and only wants her nappy, she screams when i tried to put her on her potty. I think the potty you got is cute , i might have to look for one. i hope you get some good advice and he works it out because i know how frustating it is.
