WooHoo only a couple of more days and i get to meet Maesie.

Things have improved, i went to preschool to pick up my son and came home with a report and also had a good talk to the director who is also his teacher. She explained it does not happen that often and because of his condition he is not doing it to be mean so they did not feel that it needed to be mentioned.

It looks great Jenene, you have some beautiful budgies as well.

Thanks Guys, the thing that has upset me the most is that they have never said anything to me and have made out they everything is great at preschool and he has a fun time. I am so hanging out for next week when i will hopefully get some answers to some problems he is having so i can be ready for school next year.

I took my son to preschool this morning and come home so upset, i am not sure if i want to scream or cry. On Wednesday when i dropped him off i saw him being bullied while 2 teachers stood and watched. So I mentioned something they said they will talk to the boys later.Today i asked her if that is normally how my son is treated by the boys because he is always saying he has no friends and the other boys will not play with him. The teachers have always told me he is a loner and does not want to make friends.Today she tells me that normally my son is the one who punches the other kids. That is when i really felt like telling her off, he has been going their for 18 months now and she has never mentioned that he hits other kids before and i have asked her continually how he relates to other kids because he is due to see a pedetracian next week for a behavourial accessment and i have been after information to tell the pedetrician. I have also been wanting a report for the pedetrician and they have still not done one. Sorry about all the whinging but i am so angry and upset i just had to vent. He is due to start school next year but if they are not telling all that is gong on with him then how am i going to prepare and teach him the things he needs to know to cope with school.

It is from Vetafarm and it is called Nest Mate Budgerigar and Young Bird Rearing food, it says it is meant for breeding birds and weanlings. I weaned her onto it from the handraising mix when i got her to start feeding herself.

I have tried soaked seed and she will not touch it and have tried mashed egg with vegies and does not like it either.

I have been trying that but she picks the soft stuff out and leaves the seed behind which is weird because she eats the seed when it is by itself and eats the millet spray.

I have been trying to wean Roxy for weeks now, she will eat seed and vegies but not enough it seems to stop the soft food. I only make up a couple of tablespoons of young bird rearing food mixed with warm water at night for her. I have not talk to a avian vet because i feel she is healthy but just very attached to her soft food. Lucy my 2 year old will not go to bed without her teddy and Roxy is similar she will not go to sleep unless she has had her soft food. Would it hurt her to have a liitle bit of rearing food at night for the rest of her life?

They are clear and watery which means i have properly done the wrong thing. Roxy still prefers her soft mix, she will eat a liitle bit of seed and vegies during the day but she know she gets her young rearing mix at night so she paces her cage at 5 pm waiting for it and then eats for 1/2 hour pigging out till her crop is bulging. I thought i would just stop offering it to her and hope they she would learn that she has to eat the seed and vegies because there is nothing else. Today i have noticed her poos have gone watery and her keel bone is sharp. I was not doing it to be mean to her, i would never do anything to deliberetly hurt Roxy, i have tried everything else to get her off the soft food but nothing works.

Is watery poo a indictation that a budgie is not eating enough?

It sounds like they are going well, i am trying to teach Roxy to only come out when i get her to step up but it is not going well.

The chicks sound pretty Kaz, when you put a block of wood in the nestbox what type of wood do you use and what size?

I am so glad that Merlin is doing better and i have also found that budgies will starve themselves.

I thought it was just a baby thing, i have seen photos of other members budgies doing the same thing. If she was doing it because she was stressed wouldnt she be showing other symptons as well, she started eating as soon as i put her in the cage and she is with another budgie who she interacts with.

i have decided to seperate by ages, one aviary has all the budgies under 18 months old and the other has the older budgies.The 4 show budgies i own are young but i put them with the older birds because of their size.

I have decided to call the new baby pied i bought Loopy. Loopy is the most silliest budgie i have ever owned. She spends most of the day doing somersaults on the bottom of the cage and loves to lay on her back. i think she must of got dropped on her head. She is not doing it from stress, she seems to enjoy hanging in silly positions.

Even though the four sides are all open, the breeding room has a tin walls and we have made the roof over hang. There is a big tree and a fence behind the back of the aviary. The other aviary is right next to it so the wind does not get in it alot, i hope that makes sense.

That is sad, i really hope that everything goes well for Pumpkin when he does get released.

Here is the photos, it is not a flashy looking aviary but i am happy with it and i also have a breeding room.The budgie have cope well with the move.

They are both very cute, it is good to hear that he will be ready for release soon but that must be hard for you. Even though it is the best for them it would be hard not to get attached to them.
