  6. So sorry about the chick who didnt make it 14 day old chick is covered in pin feathers etc.... Your chick dose seem under developed for a 19 day old chick... The crop also seems rather large to me too... dad might be over feeding??????? I hope you can get some advice from the others Your photo size issue was simply your computers cache playing tricks with you... your pictures turned out lovely
  7. This is Sammy (AKA The JETSETTER heheheh). (hatched 23rd Dec 07 - on my Grandma's 70th birthday ) I bred him myself but he was so badly pecked as a chick (by his father) that i have decided not to breed tiels ever again Over Christmas my Dad fell in love with Sammy (a tiny featherless chick ) while visiting us from Victoria... Now Sammy has a ticket to fly to VIC and live with my Dad on April 3rd
  8. He... but I still think SHE, looks a lot better perched up there properly I am so pleased your little baby is settling in well and looking healthy
  9. Hmmm... I don't think Zeus would be hurting Hera. he sounds like he is just bossing her around and not sharing (sounds like my 2 toddlers (Laughing out loud)) Perhaps double up of the toys so they have one each and nothing to fight over hehehe
  10. Looks like Balki is fitting in perfectly Everything you mention sounds completely normal budgie "getting to know you" behavior Oh, and by the way... your photos are AWESOME!!!! i love the close up!!! (you should enter one into BOM )

  14. Awwwwww Congrats Enna
  15. It's a lovely colour - real or fake (shame its feathers are such a mess ) I wonder if someone will ever be able to breed a budgie thats away from the blue, green, white, yellowcolours ...???? Perhaps the violet gene could be something that over time could possibly give more pink and less blue...?????
  16. Louy is a great name and has a good reputation for handsome birds :hap:
  17. Wow! what a difference - She looks great!! well done :hap:
  18. Elvis is lovely I have to say i am undecided on gender - it looks more like a girl, but i don't feel like its a Definitely girl either.... :hap: Shame you are having so much trouble taking his/her picture. Perhaps try standing back a little (30-50cm is a great distance), and then cropping the image on your computer before you upload it to photobucket???
  19. It's not all that common here is SA. a relative has told me there is a street full in Elizabeth somewhere but he wasn't sure where There is a small group of them along center of the Main North Road but thats a 4 lane highway and i am not risking my life to get some from there! :hap: I will keep a close eye out at my local parks incase there is a tree that i have missed I am so pleased that i have finally found some. yay yay yay !!!!!! :(Laughing out loud):
  20. I have searched high and low to find the highly sought-after peppermint tree I FOUND SOME !!!!!!! WOW!! they have never seen it before but they flocked to it like humas to a gold mine AND, they actually EAT it, not just play with it :D I have only found 1 tree and it's right in front of some ones house (on the nature strip) so i only took a little today .Now i am on the search to find one that is on bigger public land so i can snatch some more without upsetting anyone I have some VERY VERY happy birds at the moment hhehehehehe
  21. to take a close up shot, use the Macro setting on your camera (its in the focus section of the settings). - you will then be able to take sharp closeups - just remember to turn it off again when you are done because it is no good for normal photos (only closeups) Sorry Kaz. Posted at the same time hehehe
