WOW there is a big difference in size (poor HEN!!!). I can see how 2 chicks could fit in there now there would be just enough space for them both. Good luck and i hope its TWINS!!! :hap:

Yep, Vinegar is used on any galvanized wire etc to neutralize the Zink Thanks, Gawler is lovely. it's not too country and not too city, just right
  4. See in Libby's Signature, there is a link called "how to post pictures" you should find all the info you need in there

I live in the middle of a new estate and this is my aviary It's 6 feet high, 9 feet long and 5 feet deep and cost about $700 new. it comfortabley holds 20 budgies and i do a bit of breeding in there too
  6. Thats good to know. Thanks. i really thought those pesty little mites were contagious, but its great to know they dont seem to be
  7. I'm sorry, but i haven't had to look for that kind of medicine, so i cant help you there . The lady in the local Gawler petshop is really nice... she might be able to help. In 14 years I have only ever had 2 birds that had mites in the past and once treated (with castor oil) have never had them back again **TOUCHES WOOD!** **EDIT** I would also seperate ALL your infected birds from the healthy ones as the mites (as you would know) are very contagious
  8. Perhaps this would help (not my picture - photo from ebay)
  9. I'm in Gawler (1 hour north of adelaide )
  10. Hello and welcome. If you cant find the medicine you are after... I have effectively treated mild scaly face with Castor oil. use a coton tip and treat twice a day for about 3 days - careful not to get the oil in the eyes, nose, feathers or beak. Treat the legs too. then repeat in about 2 weeks to kill baby mites that may have hatched.
  11. How exciting!!! What an awesome space you have there! Your breeding room is going to be wonderful. :hap:

What Operating System do you have???
  13. I have budgies and Tiels in together, so my budgies get access to sunflower seeds 24/7. Like the others have said, they are fattening and you need to be careful not to give them too many. My birds get lots of exercise so it's not a problem for my birds... I have heard that some vets discourage sunflowers for budgies because they may cause fatty cysts...???? Personally, i have not had a fatty cyst in any of my birds....
