  1. Hello and welcome :bluebudgie:
  2. Hello and welcome Your budgie sounds like a real character. Does he have a name?? The behavior you mention is normal :yellowhead:. Your bird may have come from an aviary and not used to his new cage yet. The pet shop mustn't have known what they were talking about when it comes to age. saying it's under a year is very vague. Has it got black bars on its forehead??? We love photos and if you can post a clear close up we will be able to tell you age/gender/type etc :bluebudgie:
  3. Hi

Hello and welcome. I noticed yours from NZ. I love it there!!! Its such a gorgeous mountainous landscape! and the forests... WOW they are spectacular and filled with birds!!!. The 20 days I spent in NZ were some of the best, most relaxing days of my life :yellowhead: I hope you enjoy it here and can find all the info you need. Feel free to post any questions you like, and we love pictures :bluebudgie: There are very skilled breeders and budgie owners on here everyday who will be able to help you with any of your enquirers :redalbino:
  4. He is very cute Love at first sight
  5. Hmmm You are in the UK so I'm not sure about your weather conditions. If your birds are inside and its warm enough it will be fine. if they are outside and If the days are too short, they may not be 'in the mood' hehehe. I hope the others can give you some more detailed info than i can hehehe.
  6. They are lovely I love Oscar he is very handsome in my eyes Going though that now (Laughing out loud) Went to the shop today and was like... Mmmm to small, to old, too young, too this and too that..... hahaha - Down side though is i left with nothing
  7. My birds are green with envy Mine love the rain too but we haven't had a drop for over a month! Great shots by the way. did you take any of the lighting??
  8. I Agreeeeeee!!!! AWWWwwww :D
  9. Hello and welcome Deb, I got my first budgie when i was about 7 years old. it is a magical experience for the little ones and I hope you will be able to find your perfect bird/s for Danielle:D We all have to learn somewhere and all i can say is... this is the BEST place to get all your questions answered by very skilled breeders and bird owners your questions... If you want to have a single budgie, that is fine, but it will be more prone to boredom if it is at home alone a lot, so that is when a friend can come in handy Upkeep... Fresh (quality) seed and water every day. I personally recommend 'Trill' brand seed. Some fresh vegies and fruit at least twice a week, everyday is best they love carrot, broccoli, corn, apples, snow peas.... etc. see the food and nutrition section for more info Fresh food needs to be removed after about 12 hours and the cage needs to be cleaned at least once a week. Cage size is very important. most pet shops sell "set up" cages that are WAAAAYYY to small for budgies. and the cage needs to be wider, rather than taller.... 90cm l by 60cm h by 60cm w is a good size for 2 budgies to live happily If you purchase a baby budgie (6 weeks - 8 weeks) they will be easier to train. Budgies love lots of attention **EDIT** Posted the same time as Maesie

WELL DONE She is looking great, and sounds like she is having a ball in your home. And she is going though a nice moult - i bet you have feathers everywhere at the moment hehehe
