  1. Thanks for your support guys. Whitie passed away this afternoon while i nipped out to the shops. She must have wanted to be alone, and I thought it was unusual that her Toy Boy was leaving her a lone this morning, as he never normally leaves her side. She was peaceful and remained free from illness (no runny poops etc.) - it was just her old body that couldn't keep up any more. I find comfort in knowing that she is a peace now and she has gone before the cold weather has come . Whitie
  2. Thanks Libby, I have never used a crop needle... She picks at seeds though...:hap: She is 14 years old and poor old girl has been hanging on for so long. every time i think "this is the end for her" she does what she has just done again - She has perked up again now. She enjoyed her warm cuddle and now she wants to be back in the cage with the others....
  3. Poor Whitie is very weak today and her Toy Boy has left her side . I currently have her down my top keeping her warm and secure. she is really snuggely and sleeping peacfuly at the moment. as much as id like to keep her there, i cant do this all day :hap: what else can i do to make her warm and secure????
  4. I have a cockatiel going through the same thing right now... he is going to my dad's place in a month and i brought him inside yesterday to tame him and get him used to a smaller cage before his departure. OMG he is going crazy, climbing, pacing, screeching and generally unsettled its horrible to watch :hap: I am hoping he is better today though. So anyway i would agree with Elly and say your Angel is not happy with her small apartment after living in a huge mansion
  5. Good luck with making your decision! It's a tough one. Trust your instincts on this one i think. You don't want her to kill herself, but you don't want to put the rest of your flock at risk either.....

It's great to see a picture of you too - i love being able to put faces to names " HI!!!!" **Waves at the screen**

  15. Do you think it will be able to crack seed when its older ????
  16. Are you talking about the antibiotics that 'they' feed our meat chickens to make them bigger etc??? or the antibiotics that make sick birds with bacterial infections better?? :wine Personally... I don't like using drugs on my animals, birds, kids or myself. I cringe when a doctor or vet prescribes antibiotics. I Will use them if they are really needed though. I also have the view that certain drugs create weak birds (and humans). I feel germs are good (to a degree) and letting the immune system get strong is the best cure for a lot of disease Not one single antibiotic has entered any of my birds (that i know of) and I have not lost any of my birds for MANY years. The last death i had was about 3 years ago and that hen was about 11 years old - out of the blue she decided to lay and egg and got egg bound with prolapse, she was put to sleep at the vets
  17. Looks great Deb :wine
  18. Hmmm.... That looks like it has had food caught inside the top part of the beak at one stage and has made the beak grow deformed..... I'm not really sure though ???? Still looks like a little cutie :wine
