  2. I hope he will be okay. Fingers crossed for you and your little bird
  3. i'm not sure... perhaps he needs some physio of a sort... any advice would be great
  4. For anyone who is confused - Here is Scooters story Oh my Gosh!!! City traffic on the afternoon before easter long weekend After a 2 hour drive home (that is sopost to take 1 hour) Scooter is now home He is a cute little YF2 Blue and going through his first moult - so about 12-16 weeks old Sorry in advance for the bad pics.... he is not keen on posing for the camera Here is a picture i snuck while in the petshop The lady said to me that as a chick he only had thick perches so never learnt how to sit on the thin ones - i just wanted to ---> :hap: at her but i contained myself hehehe I have checked him out. He flys perfectly well. He is a good weight, clean from mites and has nice healthy poops. His legs are not inflamed or visibly showing sighs of pain. His leggs are weak and he has very limited movement and streangh in both feet - he can't crasp my finger at all but he can move his toes. One leg is weaker than the other so he sits like this.... But dispite all of that he is adorable
  5. All the best - hope your little guy will be okay
  6. the cordial helps with the bugs and the dry diet helps with the messy poops
  7. Great - good luck finding a avian vet.... if you cant find one.... perhaps try ringing around regular vets and ask if they have any experience with budgies.... it would be better if he is seen by someone today
  8. I keep my seed in a plastic bin with a lid on it... its not airtight, but keeps the seed dry and clean. I personally use Trill brand seed. If you are worried about your seed here is a link that can help test it for cleanliness and quality Here
  9. Awwww they are lovely Well done again for rescuing them :fear
  10. I don't remember the brand of the cordial - i do know it was yummy and didn't last long when the birds were finished with it hehehe I remember it was about $7 for a bottle in the supermarket and i found it in the section where they have prune and cranberry juice. Oh, and perhaps keep their diet dry until things clean up... it only lasts a week or so...
  11. Hello and welcome. Well done for your rescue :fear - some people can be so cruel You will find all the help and info you could ever need here :hap: we love photos too
  12. Here is the topic from my troubles last year Here I wouldn't spend big on uncle toby's brand.... the mid priced brands are a lot cheaper and just as good - avoid the really cheap ones though as i worry they could be dusty etc.
  13. Sounds like what happened to me last year.... i think they call it "wet nest" which is a tummy bug.... i cleaned the chicks daily, even twice daily. It went away in a week or so.My hen also took out all bedding i put in. I used rolled oats as bedding.
  14. He looks unwell in the video you provided. How is your bird this morning? I hope you can get into an avian vet today. What ever he has will not wait until Tuesday (when the vets open again after the Easter long weekend)
  15. They all look like hens to me.... dont know about Funky - that picture didnt work
  16. ...and dose he ever come out of his cage??? how is he at flying etc???
  17. **Liv** replied to Tam's topic in Food And Nutrition
hahaha!! i have fed that stuff to my ( human) babies.... they hated it. But yes its low is salt with not addatives etc
  18. Nice cage - It looks great. I feel you could put 6 birds in there tops.... 4 would be better i think... but 6 would be okay *edit* looking at it again... its deeper than i first thought so 6-8 would probably be fine
  19. Almost looks like he is squatting on the perch... how are his legs??? also how does his breast bone feel... soft, sharp or inbetween??
  20. I have 10 new chicks to fledge in the next few weeks... my flock is the biggest it's ever been, i have reached 30 and because i am not selling any of my birds i consider my aviary full. I am removing any new eggs that are laid and i will be removing the boxes as they empty... no more breeding for a while for me - well at least until i can have a bigger aviary hehehe
  21. Here is a link to help with posting pictures Here
  22. How did you go with the pictures???
  23. I cant recommend an avian vet as i have not used one before. The last vet trip i had was about 4 years ago when my 10year old hen got egg bound with prolapse. I rushed her to the closest vet to me (which was a regular vet) and they put her to sleep for me I have just done a yellow pages search on avian vet. Here are the results

But I thought you can't use those in water restrictions... mmm. we can't down here!!!... you are correct in that! But... different states and cities have different laws Hoses can be used anytime when used in relation to the hygene of humans and animals :hap:
  25. So Who's the daddy??? Buster They look nothing like busters usual offspring Pop - fathers cinnamon chicks with another hen or BG??? Sadly i think i have to put my money on Pop... What do you think?
