The Hen Who Had A Headache...
I am bad. I have a small mirror in my aviary... Pheobe is the only one who plays with it - she is a little scatter brained and it works for keeping her from pestering the others hehehehe I might add - it works for her... but if the others start to play with it too then it will be gone quick smart!

Concrete...

The Dad Is Trying To Mate With Babies - Going To Remove Him Too
When it hapens to me i remove the Hen and any of the fledged chicks and put them in a separate cage together until the chicks are weaned and dad can raise the other chicks that are still in the nest.. BUT You have a troublesome hen right?? They will need their dad if there is no one else to feed them until they can eat on their own.

The Dad Is Trying To Mate With Babies - Going To Remove Him Too
This behavior is quite common... my male is doing it to his chicks too... He gets confused as the beg for food from the chick is like the mating acceptance from a hen...

My Fledglings
I have 10 babies that are going to fledge over the next few weeks... I absolutly love it when they are so new to the world and still so young. So i thought i would put lots of pictures here and introduce each baby on their firist day out of the nest. Today Cutie is the first to came out of the box. She has a sister who will be close behind She isn't doing much on her first day out, but she is lovely to handle. "I haven't got any friends " "You're my friend - yay " "You're not very tasty - could you add millet to that please" I Love them at this young tender age :hap:

Crusty Cere
Hello and welcome Your budgies look lovely. I am sorry they are not the babies you thought they were . Petshops :hap: With the leg ring.. are they metal or plastic. If its just a black plastic ring, it means nothing. If its a metal breeding ring with numbers on it, then someone has been very bad in putting that ring on your little sweety.

New Baby
millet spray in the nest box could help. the babies like to pick at it and will often start eating on their own before they leave the nest Oh and if the babies are bitters then i would say you are right in the lady not checking on them. Babies that are handled daily normally dont bite as chicks and if they do its not hard.

1st Baby!
Well i must have some super easy-going birds as my set up is all wrong, but i haven't had any problems at all :hap: Oh, except the problem for not knowing who the father of most of the chicks is hehehehe I currenly have a happy threesome happening - one hen - 2 males, all feeding "their" chicks
