  1. Scooter likes his swing :budgiedance: He has been chewing at it and chatting it up for a day or so so i had suspected he might jump on it soon. I peeked under his cover late last night to see him roosting on his swing hehehe Its a shocking photo, but i didn't want to scare him. Scooter is a lovely boy. He is currently sitting on my shoulder singing sweetly to my birds outside. Latte is growing fast and looks almost ready to fledge. I really look forward to her coming inside :budgiedance:
  2. YAY :budgiedance:
  3. Thats a very cute video... hehehe budgies are so smart. With you there hahahha
  4. Awww they have grown into lovely birds
  5. They are lovely photos and your birds are looking great
  6. I love Canada! I lived there for a short while when i was 7. It's a beautiful country and my hubby and I want to move there one day Your Pat looks like my late Sammy who had French molt as a chick and never regrew her tale or flight feathers. She was the most beautifully tame bird i ever owned and i used to take her to school with me every day on my shoulder She was very well educated and She lived for 7 happy years :angel1:
  7. Is it a cinnamon?? The markings look light.
  8. Vi is a violet cinnamon dominant pied
  9. I hope Miss Olly is going to be okay. She sounds like a fighter. All the best with the avian vet. ((Hugs)) its so tough when they are sick and are not sure how to make them feel better. Keep us posted.
  10. Anyone is welcome Not just breeders... There are very talented breeders, budgie owners, vets, and non-budgie owners on here If you are not a breeder, it's best to click "No" so people don't get the wrong idea - especially with you having 1 budgie people might think you are into cloning :dbb1: :dbb1: :hap: When i click on your name you show up as pink, so i don't know why it says your male
  11. I feel your questions have been answered by Elly and Libby, so i just wanted to add, Hello and Welcome Buying new budgies is very exciting I would love to see pictures of your new birds
  12. They are so cute when having a bath - wet budgies Sounds like a great plan to take him to an avian vet for a checkup. When his wings are clipped he will be even more tame He will preen even more after his bath. Birds preen a lot in general so unless he is plucking feathers out or making a mess of himself, i wouldn't worry - The only other thing i can think of is mites, they can been seen under the wing if they are there. they could make him itchy.... but he looks great in his photo so i doubt he has mites
  13. I love the title of this topic --- "Taming Trilby" ---- Sounds like a movie You are making great progress with Trilby - well done
  14. Awwww They are all lovely Well done
  15. Elly is right, and budgies are very neat
  16. Hello and welcome. Congrats on your new budgie Can you get a picture of his vent. It's quite normal for a new budgie to have a poopy bottom and be stressed - He could be preening a lot from a mix of the two. It would be a good idea to worm him too.
  17. When we were renting about 7 years ago, my lease also said NO PETS (Me, No Pets - That aint gonna happen hehehe) I bought a turtle first..... They said "Well i guess it's okay, it's kind of like a fish, right?" I said "absolutely" with a big grin. My Terry Turtle was out of the aquarium and walking around the floor every day hahhaha. She was toilet trained and loved to sit on the sofa... More like a dog to me hehehehhe Anyway, about 3 months later i moved my small aviary from my mum's house with 5 budgies in it.... the landlord was like "I guess they are okay, seeing they are outside pets, Right?" I said "absolutely" with another BIG grin hahahha. all my birds were tame and spent most of their time sitting on my shoulder or the curtain rods hehehehe Good luck with your land lord. As you can see i didn't pay a lot of attention to them, but i was only 18 at the time hehehe.
  18. Thanks hehe, I cant believe that i have done 1000, well 1001 already... hahaha I am pleased Vi is setteling in okay... She has always been friendly to other birds.

  20. Thanks Norm, These are my last colony bred babies. I am going to start cabinet breeding around late spring BG is my only show type cock so I feel this chick is his. None of my other males have ever produced a chick with a wide head. As for the other two, which are cinnamon hens, i am not sure if he is the dad.
  21. I think he did it!!!!!! :budgiedance: :budgiedance: Correct me if i am wrong... but i see some show type Genes in this Boy. (BG's eldest)
