  1. okay we all know how hopless i am at genetics so i thought i would ask for some expert advice I went budgie shop hopping yeasterday and with my b'day coming up am wanting to get myself a little pressie I have found a female Blue series, Fallow or Lacewing (i can't tell which it is - but it looks like Kaz's lacewing to me ) and she has a green ring (which was, according to the breeder, hard to read) and appariantly a '06'. I will go down this afternoon and pick her up.... unless i find she is actually an old bird :budgiedance: Would she be good in a cabnet with BG (my grey spangle) If the hen is a lacewing, what would she produce with a Grey Spangle cock?? If she is a fallow, what would she produce with a Grey Spangle cock?? Thanks so much, Liv
  2. Hello and welcome - ALLLL of you hehehehe This is a great place to learn everything there is to know about budgies. And there is an awesome "Off Topic Chatter" section where you can talk about ALLLLLL your other animals (and kids hahaha) etc We love photos :budgiedance:
  3. Thanks for the update. I am so pleased he is feeling a bit better. He is such strong little guy
  4. Totally Adorable
  5. Latte has fledged this morning!!! Now to wait until she is feeding herself which shouldn't take too long.... OHHH so exciting
  6. What horrible conditions I hate seeing birds like that - it's so cruel and happening more often too Well done for standing up and being a voice for the little guys
  7. Cookie!!! i love it! Thanks Sunnie Scooter, Cookie and Latte
  8. I am a breeder of pet type birds in Mid North of South Australia :glare:
  9. Great setup, very close to mine , but i put my corn on a plate instead hehehe. I like the way you have your water on a pot plant stand... is that to help keep the seed out of the water?? I have mine elevated on a brick (away from the seed), but the seed still makes it's way into the water some how :glare:
  10. Hello and welcome. I personally would remove all shiny toys, mirrors and bells, and replace them with a number of new toys that he hasn't seen before. He needs to be distracted from what he is doing, and replace his behavior with something new. Are you at home a lot or is he home alone most of the day?? Do you have any pictures?
  11. I am in love with them too. Thats why i have decided to add Boof too, he is to adorable to leave outside Any ideas for Boof's name... I called him boof becuase he was a boofy chick - i sware there is some show type genes in him somewhere Thanks Scooter is doing really well. He must have been handled before i got him because he loves sitting on my shoulder and snuggleing into my neck and cheek
  12. I am so excited for you!!! There is nothing better than going on a long relaxing holiday.
  13. Congratulations!!!
  14. Scooter and Latte Update!!! Oh, And I am adding Boof to the duo too - Oops :hap: Scooter He is going great. Even right in the middle of a moult he still loves attention. He is a gorgeous singer and chats to anything he can find 1 more week of quarantine to go - YAY!!! My son Alex loves the birds Latte She is growing into a real charactor - Oh, and she LOOOOOOVES the camera hahahaha - she kept posing and getting too close hehehe Boof This is Boof ( I have to change his name to something better hahaha). He is Latte's oldest brother and he is totally adorable!!! He gets all smootchy when you scratch his neck and give him kisses Well thats enough now.. i think i might have over done the image limit

  17. I am not perfect at typing either, Some one will correct me if im wrong :budgiedance: To me your first picture has a male Skyblue dilut and your second and third pictures is a male Yellow Face type 1, Greywing ps - thats a nasty nip to the leg your grey wing is giving your dilut. I hope they dont fight like that often :ausb:

Hello and welcome Keith and Frisky :ausb: Frisky is a very handsome boy. I like the way he has eaten that ice cream stick almost right though :budgiedance:
  19. Budgies are messy. Husks, seed and feathers tend to land on the floor no matter what you do, but a cage skirt is a bit of fabric/elastic that goes around the bottom section of the cage to help keep some of the seed in. I find it helps to have feeders towards the bottom of the cage too. If a hen is nesting, She is creating a nest for herself and her eggs - Meaning she is in the mood to breed
  20. Thanks Guys :budgiedance: I had fun dreaming it up and making it. It was harder than i thought to create a swing for a bird who can't grip with his feet. It had to have a flat bottom and it must not tip. I got most of the bits from Spotlight... Here are some more that i have made for scooters new cage :ausb: A shredder toy - Sammy has already given this one the tick of aproval hahaha. Noisy toy Part shredder and part noisy :hap:
  21. :budgiedance: :ausb: :hap: I have helped people at a IT help desk before - OOOOOOHHH so frustrating hahahahaha!

Do your birds have mites? It's best only to use it as a treatment, not as a preventative.
  23. WOW!! Congrats on all your bubs
