1st Baby!
I colony breed too with no problems... i had 2 troublesome birds many years ago that would pick fights and be nasty with their peers - I think they may have had "issues" as they only lived to be about 5 years old. Good luck and i hope your breeding experience gets better

Introducing Scooter
I do like the idea of having him as an inside bird - i have never had an inside bird as a real pet before.

Introducing Scooter
The pet shop said that he got picked on by the other birds... do you think he might get picked on in my aviary??? Thanks. The perch is just the 2 wooden ones rapped in paper and firmly taped with sticky tape - i will be going to the hardware store to buy some wood for perches tomorrow

Concrete...
Thats it My other number if that one is busy is 1800 IN TOO DEEP hahaha You could also wear super sized gum boots so you can just slip your feet out and leave them stuck in the middle of the floor - they could make nice nesting sites or mouse free feeders - (Laughing out loud)

New Budgie Sick?
Hello and welcome. Please quarantine her right away. The messy poops could be just a sign of stress... but she could be carrying any kind of disease that could affect the rest of your flock. She needs to be quarantined 5 meters away (min) from your aviary for at least 30 days. One member has just had a bird that was seemingly healthy, suddenly die 3 weeks into quarantine from an unknown illness... Oh and it would be great to see your pictures

Introducing Scooter
Yay!! he is my first golden face - and as you know i don't have many blue birds either... so he is really something special Because he doesn't have the debilitating disability of splayed legs that we originally thought, i don't need to make him a special cage. However, i am going to buy him a new cage. One of these... I will make some nice flat perches for him and make some toys that cater's to his needs

Introducing Scooter
I don't really understand the cobalt colour??? what is it exactly??? The camera enhanced his yellow face i think because I don't feel he is deep enough yellow to be golden. He is very pretty. He has little random patches of deep blue-purple, sky blue and green though his feathers. I have my back door open and he is cherping to my flock out side

Messy Hen
My hens are normally clean so it was a bug with mine. I have just gone though my photos, i thought i had taken some of the mess, but i cant seem to find them. I like your idea of mixing the oats and the bran The cordial will not do them any harm even if they are tummy bug free . You can always drink what's left (YUM **Licks lips** heheh) Hope they get better soon

Cuttlebone Cleaning Before Feeding To Birds
In my view full cuttlebone is better but budgies often just play with it rather than eat it anyway. If i find a nice cuttlebone on the beach i give it a good clean in the sea water then clean it again in tap water when i get home.

What Is This Millet Variety Called, Picture Attached
i have know idea what its called, but i do know that if my budgies were inside right now and saw that picture, they would be dive bombing the screen to get at that yummy seed hehehehe

Introducing Scooter
I think you are on the money with Rickets. One food curls inwards a bit and he tends to sit on his knees rather than his feet which is why he needs flat perches. he falls right off the round ones - poor little tike. The store keeper said he likes to sleep in his seed dish hehehe. Is calcium deficency a bird mill thing? Your right!! Well spotted. I'd hate him to get his legs caught. I will get some flat wood for his perches - actually i think i have some in the shead anything round he falls straight off. He is right next to me on the bench in the quarintene cage. he is just starting to get tucked in for the night... he looks so cute but he hasn't touched his millet... hopfully he will eat in the morning
