Problems In The Birdroom
I have worked out that 2 that died from the same nest were ones that hatched earlier, remember the one I found with the hole in it and I helped it and there was blood and so and the other had it's head hanging out but had a fair bit of blood too so I was thinking the hen did that, well they lived for a few days but didn't seem to grow much, they didn't have yellow belly. I think this other nest the mum is a first time mum. But then my lutino nest their baby died and didn't look like yellow plus I treated that nest last time, I think she is a **** mum too. I took her eggs off her last time because she gave me warings off a bad mum. That little chick is still alive but going on the others it will probably die. It's under another hen. All others are doing great.

Problems In The Birdroom
That little chcik has been fed now so I think it will be okay, I guess I saved it by chipping away the shell, as it was completely ready to come out.

Problems In The Birdroom
Yes Kaz I did but only the ones with the yellow belly. I think I will stop breeding and treat all birds. But then I don't think it is this as none of the chicks have yellow belly

Meet The Newest Member Of Our Family
Thanks SL26, He is smart but that's the problem, he is testing to see what he can get away with, I notice he is better behavied when Geg is at work than on the weekends when Greg is home. Maybe I am more relaxed too. Greg gets out of bed on the weekends and hits the couch and stays there most of the. IT DRIVES ME NUTTY. I don't know how anyone can do that, BUT then he reckons he is sick, but he is always sick, (all in his head)

Problems In The Birdroom
I have mice bait and traps everywhere, I haven't caught or see a mouse for ages but Greg is catching them in the shed so they would be in my breed room. They have all been treat a couple of months ago .I have decided to pull them all out and end my breeding for this year. I think. and constrate on my new birdroom.Just leave the ones with chicks there.I will give them to the end of the week to make up my mind.I don't want to treat them as I can over do it , a few nest had moxi t a few weeks ago and these are the ones I am having problems with. But at the same time it did same heaps of chciks too Because I did have yellow belly. The chciks dead today that just hatched had a dark spot in their belly.UPDATE!!!!That little chick that I chipped out is still alive and wriggling around now so it could still make it

Meet The Newest Member Of Our Family
Well I just took Bear  okay Jake for a walk, He walked really good no pulling, he is learning fast  . Our walk was short lived because we came to a house that had a big pit pull terrior out the front with tha gate open and I couldn't tell if it was tied up or not so I quickly picked Jake up and turned around and carried him a bit then put him down to home and he was perfect.

Colours Of New Additions
Your Df sp could be from a grey sp or even a grey green spangle

Colours Of New Additions
Well you will need a Dom pied that is blue series or split for blue to start with and probably cobalt, sky or even dk green bird split for blue and then hope for the best. There is a chart on percentages here somewhere in FAQS. I never worry about things like this as I am not breeding for colour or variety, I am more concerned about breeding the bird first. When I get a special colour it is a bonus (like my violets)

Problems In The Birdroom
I am having problems in the birdroom, I lost one chick the other day from yellowbelly, but then the next day another died and no yelly belly. and I just lost the youngest 2 from my pied nest and no yellow belly either . Just dead and they all had full crops but they did seem small for their age. Chicks were between 5 and 8 days old. I also have eggs in 4 nest that should be hatching and they aren't, but they don't look like their dead in shell yet. Meaning they sttll look okay. I really can't work out what's going on.

Thought I'd Lost My Husband Today
I can relate a bit Nubbly as I can image that your heart just sank all the way to the ground. It would be devastating for you, your soul mate unbearable to deal with. I am just so pleases for you and Grant that he is okay, I thinking someone was watching over him that day As for my son and I, I couldn't stand I just fell to the floor, I was so thankful that he was still alive but it was a horriable experience. I rang my other sons that at the time lived in Numurkah, nearly 2 hours away sobbing my heart out. And they were over here in an hour and the drive takes 1 3/4 hours I am lucky they all got here in one piece too. But all turned out good and he recovered from his injuries in time. Thinking of you

Meet The Newest Member Of Our Family
He has toys all over the place to destroy, so that is why I was annoyed that he ripped the **** out of my chair, he has denist chews, dries pig trotters, dried pig ears, raw hide chews, plus his balls and balls on robe a teething toy, a ball that squeaks when he bites it. PLUS he has found empty pot plants that he runs around with them on is head and he has a big bouncy ball that he has defalted which has big handles that he likes to chew on. He is really funny when he plays with them because he will be playing with one toy then he would jump to the next and so on. He keeps himself very occupied when playing. But then he decides gee it's time to annoy mum and he will pounce on me NOT Greg ME! Then he tries jumping up on with mouth open which I totally hate so of course I say NO firmly but when he is so excited he has trouble listening I am sure.

Yes he loved his walk until he decided NO more and then I had trouble with him, but yes he loves bringing the ball back , i thought that was cool I played ball with again just before and he still brought it back but if he looses concentration he will forget the ball and come back for a pat. I think that is good for the first time we have ever tried it

Cleaning Out Nesting Boxes
I think it is best to leave them alone during egg laying. I only clean my when chicks start making a mess. More droppings in there than nesting material. More if the hen is a messy hen.

Thanks guys for your advice, Jake has being fairly good but this morning he was just the worse. He tore my chair to pieces so when I got up to feed the little so and on. I wasn't going to pat him. Iwent out and put his face in it and said NO bad dog, well he just jumped all me so I went inside, didn't feed for 15 minutes. Anyway he was ferriel, I hate him. I turned my back on him but then he just nipps at my pants and the hurts. I rang up about obedience classes because he is driving me nuts. Whlie all this is happening Gregs laying on the couch, he has NO idea what he is like.

Thought I'd Lost My Husband Today
How horriable for you Nubbly. I am so glad he is alright , I hope he makes a complete recovery soon but that shoulder blade sounds bad. I felt sick reading this it is every ones worse nightmare. A few years a ago I got a phone call from my sons friend telling that he was dead, that someone hit him over the head with a tyre rod and he was on the side of the road covered in blood, dead, not moving. Jade really believed it was dead, he was crying is eyes out. I fell to the floor in horror and shock. I rang the police and ambo's and emergencie ward and everyone trying to find out. NO one new anything. This assalt only happened a few blockes from my house. I was a mess. Anyway the police advently turned up and he wasn't dead but very seriously hurt, I raised to the hospital he was hit several times the doctor couldn't believe he was still alive with the amount of stitches they did. It was a horriable experience thinking my son was dead and an hour earlier he was happy young 20 year old. Nubbly just have those little cries it makes you feel better.

Chicks From (dilute Hen/sky Violet Op Spangle)
Thankyou everyone but really they are nothing special but I am hoping the green spangle turns out good. I haven't bred that winner this year so far, but that's okay because I think good stock for next is better. I have got a few really good young birds but some are heavily flecked (can't show them). have some really good blues but will have to wait and see how they develop, That cobalt that died the other day was a hopeful. I have my standards higher now as I am Intermediate now, or soon. Really dissapointed that I haven'y bred any worth while DF spangles. I have 2 chicks out of the yellow df sp cock all year and 1 died today. And i only have 1 chick out of his son the white DF sp really dissapointed. Those 2 birds throw my best young. But the violet is doing a good job this year.
