  1. Is it your birthday GB if so,
  2. Well Matt you must be one cute handsome cheeky guy
  3. Yes Finnie the poles have to go but the closest one is cemented in, I couldn't pull pull but Greg did last night. Broad beans are yuk thye are a big round type of pea thing, disgusting make me sick  Chockos are a big green oval type vege with spikes all over it. they are tasteless, they are a waste of space. Greg has decided not to gro thwm anymore as he doesn't like them much either. He cooked one this year by boiling it and my god it tasted like rotten socks  Last year he set the vine on fire to get rid of it but the silly things grew again this year.
  4. Congrats Finny
  5. Thanks Pete I will. How do you go about using normal cocks when most are split for cinnamon
  6. for you Dave  That iffy hen that I got at the meeting belonging to Ian. Well he kept her because she is a top hen, she came 7th I think at the uncap show when she was a baby. But he has never got anything out of her. I have been lucky she laid the first round and destroyed eggs, so when she laid second time I left eggs there for a bit and when I relised they were fertile I tranfered them and now I have 3 little babies very happy. I have her with my white df spangle son of my white df spangle and I plan on doing the same thing again  But I am thinking they might not be fertile as it is too soon since she laid the last lot. Babies have just being rung.
  7. he grows chokos too YUK, I don't mind zucchini
  8. Now I have the big headache of finding cock birds that are not split for cinnamon and opaline, ALMOST IMPOSSABLE.
  9. Yuk I hate them anyway. He is only going to loose a couple of plants, mmm won't kill him
  10. Sorry Kaz, that is really sad and it is always the good ones. She has been a top hen for you and left you some super offspring.
  11. Congratulations Jack lovely photo
  12. Yesyour right GB, I miss a lot of birds I parted with last year. this is his nest but there are only 4 of his in there, the yellow spangle belongs to another nest White df sp cock Sky hen Sky violet spangle hen grey green cin sp hen grey cock to name a few But i have learnt from my mistakes. But at the sametime If Ihadn't of lost some of my best birds earlier this year, I wouldn't missed so many. But as I said I lost a few really good birds one in particular was the white DF spangle Hen that I won with her and her brother (Champion Adult bird in show and the hen got Champion opposite sex in show. Then she died 2 months later. The old boy died earlier this year too. One of the yellow df spangle sons died too. But it's all good now have bred some handy birds Some pics
  13. Well I have started to prepare the ground for the cement. All by myself. hard work you know okay my first photo. This is where I started to clear away and level the ground. It goes over about 4 feet to the right where you see Gregs Broad beans growing and my lucerne. They need to go and he said NO. But they are My exiting birdroom is to the left. My shed should be here any day now I bought the wood to frame the cement at the weekend. More updates when more happens
  14. I have had that problem too Dave. False eggs work a dream and if they fail I transfer the eggs to another nest.
  15. Thanks Rachelm. I don't feel I have bred that cracker yet but at least most these babies will be handy for my breeding season next year. More pics new pair, real bad photo of both birds. This is that sky violet spangle opaline cock Gb brother to your hen and proud father of 6 this is the brother of the violet I won the violet class at the shield with last year, he is the father of that very nice violet opaline spangle cock that got 3rd in the violet class at the shield this year. He looks funny because we cut the feathers in front of his eyes so he could see the hen, worked for 5 minutes then he went back doing it to the perch.
  16. Thanks Chooky That's mine aim is to breed the clear body (white or yellow), so that is why I asked you because I was sure you mentioned it to me at the auction. So I don't know about other people here but I will be staying away from the dark factor as much as possible. But as you were saying you can put the violet over the green, absolutley COOL as I have some nice violets. So I can use these violets over my light green clearbody, is this right Pete and I shouldn't get suffusion and it will intensifying the colour?
  17. Your son looks like a proud fisherman. nice looking boy Matt, does he take after his mum
  18. okay but I really like the opaline hen is she cobalt, she actually looks sky from here
  19. Thanks Kaz, Snoopy and Dellouisa. Kaz my Percentage is really high so far. Not many culls at all. I really happy with what I have bred till date. I have 42 babies in the nest at the moment and more to hatch. Here are some more more later
