  1. Greg said that they are very loyal and a great watch dog. Gosh Jake is annoying though, he is wearing me out. wants to play all the time and under my feet everywhere I walk. It's only annoying because he is Greg's dog and i have to be with him all the time while Greg works, I really think I should of being allowed get the dog that I wanted, a cavalier or a maltese/shitzu seems I'm the main carer . Jake is going to be quite big soon and he is a breed I would never in a million years choose. BUT saying all that he is growing on me. But better stop waking me up in the morning, this moring he started at 5.18 because that is when Greg went to work. Be barked and carried on until I got up and turned the light out which was 5.55 and then it was nearly day light so he started again.
  2. I hope your bird makes a full recovery Nubbly, your new pair look good, I like the Mark Chidel cock :laughter:
  3. Thanks Kaz, Nubbly and Macka, I actually new that and forgot, when I bought this clearbody cock I as trying to get a albino hen to go with him but she went for to much so silly me settled for a lutino cock. :laughter: 2 cocks don't really work hey Anyway I bought an albino hen since then but at the time she looked pretty crappy anyway i loaned her to Clearwing, but I might see if I can get her back for a round. I am getting excited about these clearbodies now In the nest there are only 3 because 2 eggs didn't hatch, but one has red eyes and the other 2 are normals which could be clearbody or clearbody/split. I really like the blue series more than the green series.
  4. you got me wrong, im not alking about quarantine, i am mature enough to understand that it is a safety issue. I am talking about being unfair about putting budgies with the same categorie as kangoroos and koalas as they are the animals living only in Australia....anyway. thanks others for the links, they are very helpfull. . Sorry don't understand this... :laughter:
  5. Hi Doc, are you control breeding, breeding in cabinets or colony breeding. if your Albino has a small head I would put your best cock over her because it is hard enough to breed good albino, the the best colour to put with an albino is grey but you do not have a grey cock . Your grey hen you can breed from her at 12 months. Yes it should be okay do put the cock to the grey after he has finished with the albino. The birds can raise 2 rounds safely a year. Good luck with your breeding
  6. Hi all, just checked my babies from me clearbody cock who is whith a normal hen, They had 5 fertile eggs but only 3 hatched, I rung 2 today and one has red eyes, so I am guessing my clearbody is clearbody/ino. This is my first time breeding clearbodies and I doubt that a clearbody chick would have red eyes. Anyone here who has breed clearbodies and have got ino from their pairings. But actually this is good to have the chance of getting 3 varieties in one nest :laughter: . normal/clearbody, clearbody, ino. Does that mean I can get ino splits too. I need to do some research.
  7. That grey baby is a stunner :laughter:
  8. Here are a couple new photos of Bear oops I mean Jake I took yesterday, I reckon he has grown heaps in 3 days I took these photos yesterday, he is settling really good. Today he was actually playing by himself with his toys, he was so funny, then he would grab his own tail and pull at it so hard that he would fall over the veranda :laughter:
  9. Thanks everyone, Kaz you made me laugh :laughter: I wish it would sleep in though
  10. Ross, I put my chicks back when I find them out of the nest , even when they are older. I only stop putting them back when I know for sure they are coming out of their own and not falling out. If I work out the hen is doing it because she wants to lay again I will put them on the floor with a little hidy area for them for protection. normally the dad will tend to them. Good luck with your last little chick, I hope it makes it. Just keep putting it back in the nest.
  11. lol His name might be Jake but to me he is Bear, I call him Jake Bear when Greg's not around he gets just Bear Bear was 10 weeks yeterday
  12. Thanks Dave I will do a photo essay on it, but I still watching yours for ideas keep them coming.
  13. Thanks Pie, we found out his breeder turns the light off and the puppies know it's bed time but silly Greg thought he would leave the light on all night thinking it would help him settle in NOT. Anyway he has been sleeping all night, he has settled in very well BUT he wakes with daylight and starts howling, NOT for food for us, companionship. DRIVING me nuts. This morning he started so I got up and gave him breaky and he didn't even worry about it for half an hour , he was more concern about driving me nuts. jumping etc. Anyway his name is Jake Greg won because it's his dog, I still think Bear was a good name. Greg said when he grows up he won't look like a bear. He is howling right now.

  15. Why don't you ring the airport and see if you are allowed to because no birds can come into Australia, so I am guessing no birds can go out, plus even if they were allowed to they would have to go into quanteene once you are arrive, the whole thing would be very expensive.
  16. Looking good Dave. glad yours pairs are showing interest, won't be long before they start laying now, shed is looking good too, can't wait to see the doors on. Thanks for the idea of the hook and eye bolt as I was wondering how I was going to keep the door open. My shed sould arrive by the end on next week. BUT still haven't done the cementing as it has been to wet, I really wish the rain would go away for a while. But then I know we need it so I shouldn't say that.
  17. The pairs look great Nubbly should get some nice babies, good luck with your breeding
  18. splat replied to PJI's topic in Jokes
I thought that was funny Phill :mallet: , I told it to Greg and he went hmmm
  19. I would say the hen is a recessive Pied as you said she has no ring aound the eye.
  20. I too would say yellow face as what Dave said and cobalt, the real mauve colour looks grey but have different colour throat spots tahn greys do and that is main way you can tell them about.
  21. He is very nice Phill, good feather, I did think he looked a bit straight up and down and a good sign of that is the narrow mask but he is only young, time will tell, but lovely head. The sky hen looks like she has good shoulder and nice head and feather
  22. Well the little so and so was so good until half an hour after I went to bed and he started , honestly all night he carried on. He is NOT sick Both Greg and I are both very tired today. Gb I don't want him to be my dog but he should take to both of us if he lives long enough my sleep is very important Nah he is a cuttie, took more pics of him before, so I guess I already love him
  23. Kaz I think Bear is nice too, I hope I win over it. I like Jake too but I have a Grandson called Jake.Gb Bear is growing on me, Greg said they are a one person Dog and very loyal, but the problem is I am home most of the time and Greg is not so he will probably end up my little mate more than Gregs whether I like it or not.I have to admit that I have been shopping and bought him everything a dog needs almost even made him a bed today but he won't sleep in it yet, prefers to sleep in the open, silly puppy, so we had to get abig thick warm blanket for him to sleep on and cover the chair he is under to keep the wind off him.He is really good, Greg thinks he is sick because he is not sooking and carrying on like most puppies do on their first night at their new home.BUT he is not sick he seems to be a good puppy i think Funny I was waiting for Greg to come home from work so we could go and pick him up together but he went straight from work without me so I was really annoyed too, but Greg got his punishment for not taking me, Bear pooped in his car on the way home  that will teach him.Greg said he gaged all the way home :yuck: A red heeler is the same as what we call Australian Cattle Dog, over here, right? Not my favorite breed, either, looks-wise, but this one has nice markings. I'm sure he will be a very nice looking dog. Besides, I hear their personality is good, so that's more important than looks, isn't it. And the name Bear is way better than the name Jake! At least he didn't want to call him "Buddy" That was very generous of Greg's sister! And I'm really happy for you to have a dog again. Thank you Finnie, Yes they are Australian Cattle dogs and very Loyal.Bear is actually very cute, he is big boned his feet are huge, he is only 8 weeks old if that.Greg was going to call him, Fred... George... and some really crappy names and I said NO, we both kinda agreed on Jake but when he came home with him and bear was standing eyeing off the birds, I thought you look like a bear, so i thought that's different so now I am stuck on it.We were getting the girl dog and Greg said we will call her George and I NO but then I said I like Georgie so I was happy with that but Then his sister decied to keep the girl for herself.i think the real reason why she gave one to Greg was so she can see how he grows up and also use him for stud later on but we will see about that. Greg said he might have him fixed yet.
  24. Hi all, Greg brought home HIS new puppy today. He is a Red Heeler, Greg wants to call him Jake but I think he looks like a Bear so I am calling him Bear. :yuck: I personally do not like the breed as I think they are ugly, I am a cavalier person BUT anyway Bear is cute in his own way and it is nice to have a dog again afetr loosing Buffy early this year from Tiger snake bite  His sister bred him and selling the pups for $700.00 but she gave Greg Bear.
