  1. This one is showing good protenial Kaz, the directional feather is there
  2. Try this to Dave because they are probably closer to you http://www.lentradirect.com.au/contents/en-us/d5.html
  3. Poor girl but at least she is on the mend.
  4. That's I thought Kaz because before the hen chucked him out his bum was fine and he had a full crop and really big like he was a huge had full and in about 3 days he now skin and bone and all fluffed up, no food in his crop completely empty.
  5. That is something I have been thinking all arvo Gb. Poor little fella, if I get this job finished in time i will take a photo of for you. His bum is not messy like he was sick, you know some chicks come out of the nest or even in the nest some have a messy bum, I think it is nerves someone can correct me because I could be wrong, but I have had chicks with bums like this birds and all have grown up perfectly healthy after a dose of probotic. I think he has been chcuked out of the nest and he has got stressed because mum won't feed him anymore and he doesn't seem to be eating on his own, I have cropped him a couple of times but because he is a mop I would prefer nature to take it's cause. I know that is sad but that's how I feel.
  6. Sorry Gb he is a mop his feathers are long very long, his bib is growing outwards and curling, his flights out growing out and there are heaps of them, double the amount i reckon.. his head is magnifent, but he has black feathers growing around the eyes which makes him look wierd, he has this massive head. 3 days ago he was huge but since his step mum through him out he has lost all his weight. She won't feed him anymore and the only reason he was so big was she was pumping the food into him. His bum is messy because he is not eating, he is not sick. but he is just waisting away. I will take some photo later or in the morning if I get a chance.
  7. I will take one later when I get home or in the morning, have to go out now. But he has black around his eyes and is looking really ugly. He was as fat as until the hen shucked him out of the nest and now he has lost all his weight , he is skin and bone with a huge messy bum. BUT yes he is a rotten mop.
  8. This bird is a mop fore sure. the hen kicked him out of the nest a couple of days ago and he is 6 weeks old now, well he has lost most of his weight, I would he would be dead by tomorrow.
  9. That pair sound super good, I hope this lot of eggs are fertile Liv and can't wait to the results.
  10. What a heap of ****, gosh inos x normals have red and and black eye chicks, who ever told you is pulling your leg. or is dump as What ever happen to people helping over people, wwhat is the world coming. aggr some breeders really annoy me
  11. That's a pity Gb, but seems they used her above and beyound I would let her fly. You said the young they have are about 2 months old so more than likely they used all that time. It's a pity you don't get your chance at breeding her but at least those eggs were fertile, that's a start. So it's your choice but I wouldn't let her raise any young at the moment because she probably has done her share this year already. I would give her another break for a couple of weeks and put her down again but then take the eggs off her as she lays them and put them under a foster parent. You could get 10 eggs this way, but don't let her raise them.
  12. She looks like she is going to be a good hen. She kinda looks like her uncle no really she does. ,
  13. Wow there are some handy babies there GB, they should turn out realy good. That hen from earlier post the shared breeding one , I think a cobalt, is she from my hen or some other shared breeding.
  14. 6 chicks GB from that pair, remember 8 fertile eggs the first 2 died. Can't believe I have 6 chicks from him .
  15. Lovely photos Gb, it is nice when you go into the aviary and the come to you. Mine love to sit on my shoulder and in my hair they think my hair is a nest i think . I like your drink bottle holder, can you take a photo of the whole thing so I can copy it Please
  16. That is great that your club is like that and you have members that help you out too, good to here
  17. That's what I thought There has been some great advice here on this post
  18. Wow Dave those birds look really good, you should get some good chicks from them. all the best for your breeding season and I hope you breed some crackers
  19. Sorry about your little one dieing, did it have a yellow belly, like egg yolk in it's tummy?
  20. Sorry when I said the above , I didn't mean to cinnamon fallow, i just meant in general that cinnamon and opaline are important . But I do not know much about fallows but from what i do know is Kaz and Nubbly and GB are all right, you DO NOT PUT CINNAMON TO FALLOW. My advice Squeak is to google what ever you can find on fallows and I am sure you will get the right advice. Key words research.
  21. Yes I relise this, the one window that I am differently putting in is going on the side where the door is, I am only having one door. so on the side where there is one panel cages will be along there and on the other side of the door there will be 2 panels, well the sink is going there with the window above it and if enough room my trophy cabinet above the window. My walls will 210 and the highest bit will 254cm I think. But I am thinking of a window or a long strip of laserlight along one wall above breeding boxes to let in more light. first I need to get the shed up and then my plans may change who knows
  22. I knew you would say that Kaz, But i did read the first post and I got confused over the one breed box etc. I am also got double confused over why whould you want to take a mother away from eggs or move nest so sorry got muddled But in put on this Lisa is leave her where she is, she will hatch chicks and raise them quite happily on her own. Don't go moving her around as Kaz said she will abandon the chicks.
  23. Where is she and where is her box?
  24. I am putting a whirly bird on mine too,Dave plus a bought a sliding window from the demolition place, I think i may put 2 windows in yet because I am not having a sky panel for light like yours so I am guessing mine will be quite dark. But yours looks great, lov eth colour too. mine is only zinc. I had Greg mum here and his step dad before, I ian is his name and he spaents most of his spare time at the tip helping the guy there, well ysterday 4 whiry birds came like new he said, he grabbed 2 for himself and left the other 2 there becaus ehe didn't know I wanted one. Rats. He said someone grabbed the other 2 by the time he left. rats rats rats. And what is even worse he didn't know I was after a shed either and yesterday some guy come in and said he pulled down is shed, a small single garage and wanted to knoe if anyone wanted, Ian and the other said no they didn't know anyone, gosh can't believe it Could of saved me $715.00 dollars, even if he wanted $500 for it, would of being great ... mmm these are the breaks. Oh but good news Gregs mum June has a laundrey sink for me with the cupboard too, that's a start
