Id And Possible Baby Colours
You've got a lovely bunch of darlings. :fear Here are my stab at colour and mutations... please bare with me, I'm still learning myself.. :fear The first three are harder to tell the body colour as the lighting isn't good. Mango - Lutino (could be creamino, hard to tell with lighting, but would say more of a lutino) Loki - Recessive Pied (possibly olive green? or is that grey green? or possibly goldenface) Spangle - Dominant Pied (possibly cobalt or mauve) Merlin - Normal Cobalt blue Kiwi - Light green spangle Dixie - Normal Mauve I'm not sure about offsprings outcome.. still getting my brain around that one. Is Kiwi a boy? From the look of it's cere, looks like a girl, but it could just be the photo and the angle of it. hard to tell.

Sick Again?!?!
I'm so sorry that you have to go through this again with poor little Buster.. Can I please ask what are the symptoms? When was the last time Buster was sick?? The reason why I ask this is because a friend of mine had a lovebird who was very sick on and off for a three months period. Towards the end of the three months he was having seizures. She took him to three avian vet before finally realising what was wrong. The first two avian vets thought it was either infections or megabacteria, but it turned out to be metal poisoning. The lovie somehow manage to get a hold of a piece of metal bits and swallowed it. Unfortunately the diagnosis came too late, and the little one didn't make it. Oh, I'm just mentioning it as a possibility that's all. Not saying that that's what they have. I hope they get better soon.

********budgiebird Hilton News *********
(Laughing out loud), yeah another one will probably come home after I get back in September from my one month holidays. I do trust Karen's flock, but I still go ahead with the quarantine process, but because my housesitter and animal sitter aren't familiar with the whole birds scene I didn't want to overwhelme her too much while she's here. so opted to wait out until the holidays when we get back for another baby if my hubby lets me.. hehe.. There's already some that tug at my heart string, but my eyes are still set on Buddha, but I know I could never have him.. hehe.

I'm not sure about the flowering sweet peas but the normal sugar snap peas would be alright. I should look into the flowering sweet peas. I would imagine it would be okay. but I should look anyway.

Buddy And Me In The Bathroom
Buddy looks cute. :ausb: with the 'purple halo'... It looks like you took the picture facing the mirror and with flash? those are the reflection of the flash, or otherwise it's the sunlight filtering through reflecting off the mirror.
-
Melanistic Spangle
That's really interesting.. they kinda sort of remind me of a badly marked opaline or something along that line, except with the spangle tails. :ausb: There are pics of before and after.. the 'barheads' are the young chicks before they started moulting.
-
New Budgies
Lovey, I understand what you mean by the head colouring as well, but check out what Bao's head used to look like before she was lost to the world. She was an Opaline.
-
New Budgies
Ya know Daz, as much as I think you're right with the non opaline, I am still going to say that he is an opaline spangle!! No camera can give that blue to a bird unless it was there to start off with!! It's just not possible to turn black into blue just like the body colour flash or not flash.. How about a picture of him without the flash?!?! I'll be d***** if this guy isn't an opaline!!!

Boris Is A Mummy!
Awww, what cute pics!!! I do have to agree with Kirby. Boris has the coolest expression on for the camera!!
-
********budgiebird Hilton News *********
cutie pies!!! I'm going to say that Kaya's eldest isn't an Opaline. There's no green on her wings, too yellow. the last baby picture is looking like a spangle as well, not opaline

How Do!

Dutch Dominant Pied
hehe yeah I guess so. they seems to have the 'male's traits' as well, so guess we did good that first time around!!
