  1. Shasta is a YF2, and I think Sherbet is either a greywing or dilute dominant pied.
  2. Must....have....all.....babies....from....that....pairing!!! I just love Bubblegum, and the hen is an absolutely stunning type 1 !!! And the DF pied next to her in the 1st picture looks remarkably like one of the babies I bred (Cloud). I really like the sponge idea for the splayleg baby. It seems like it would also be more comfortable than splinting. I'm glad that baby is still being fed and accepted in the nest box with it on. I think the hen is a type 2. There's definitely bleeding going on into the chess there, and also she has yellow on her wing marking.
  3. From what I've learnt is that birds are lactose intolerance. a little of the milk is fine, but a whole lot is not recommended. I would never give my birds milk knowing that it's got lactose it in. Things like Cheese is fine as it's a processed dairy product which means the chemical composition in lactose has been altered which means it's safe for bird. I still wouldn't give them too much of processed dairy due to the fat content. Cheers.
  4. the hotter the chilli, the better!! Well no not really. Hot peppers/chilli are fine for birds. I feed them to my Cockatoo all the time, and the budgies get one every now and then. They all love it. The chilli actually doesn't burn a bird's tongue, I just watch where they stick their beak after they have had hot chilli. Wouldn't want them to transfer any of the chilli 'juice' into our eyes or mouth (for those who can't handle the heat that is).

Hi Budgies, believe it or not are prolific chewers for their little size. They will chew through woods and and of course paper. It's pretty normal. I've had many wooden ladder with rung missing because the budgies have chewed through them. try giving Paulie some fresh natural branch like bottlebrush or young eucalyptus branches to chew on. Paulie will love it!! All my budgies go nuts for a branch or two from the bottlebrush tree.. hehe. :dbb1: Cheers

Awww, i love that tucked in look. I could sit and watch them when they are like that all day long... but of course they don't stay tucked in for very long unless they are covered.. hehehe... And just look at those two size difference! my oh my... what an odd 'couple' you have there.. hehehe.
  7. Bedtime?? what's that? I've never heard of such term! ehehehehe.... I'm a night owl.. heheheee\ Karens... the babies are looking soooo wonderful! Yasmin is simply gorgeous sitting there.

From the look of the dad in the picture, he looks like he has opaline colouration going as well. If that's the case, all the girls will be opaline.
  9. All my budgies that want to take a bath usually gets soaking wet, and those that don't stays 'waterproof' as well. but I think that has to do with the amount of water they actually 'received'. My oldest budgie - Lemon still gets the wettest when she takes a bath and she's about 3 years old soon.
  10. awww, Scuttle is looking wonderful there!! Simply gorgeous!
  11. thanks. I just barely remember the name of it!! What's a dusk budgie??
  12. I agree with Nerwen totally with the pics shown so far.. Violet only a spangle, and the skyblue an opaline spangle.
  13. malanistic (sp?) spangle.... I think it's the same photos that someone showed once before. It has the spangle tail...
  14. I got the ivermectin spot on treatment without taking the bird in.
  15. you're right about the sex linked genes Lovey... hehe.. I got them confused.. thanks for clearing that up. Opaline is really odd when mixed with spangle mutations.. I could very well by wrong. hehehe.

    great flight shots!
  17. Lovey, I said opaline for Walford because of the body colour marking the wing feathers. Unless I miss something while I'm away, I'd say that he's an Opaline. Seymour and daughter are gorgeous!! Looks like I agree with Lovey there.. greywings skyblue. I'm going to take a jab at Manny being a greywing as well from that green color on her body. I could be wrong though. Toes look very great! I do love those lacewings. If you breed Toes with Seymour, I agree with Lovey, plus, I think you'll possibly get some cinnamon girls and albino girls???? I THINK that is.. hehe... (I go away for a month, and all my genetics go out the window!! (Laughing out loud))
  18. I'm going to add that he's an opaline as well on top of Bubbles said. Pretty Walford.
  19. Hmmmm I leave for one month, and look at all your beautiful babies!!!! wow, I must say, Harley and Rose's baby is an interesting one.. and so is that yellow cinnamon green back red eyed baby of yours. You're coming up with 'new mutations' left right and center! I have to pop in and see these little ones in person and the little puppies as well just as soon as I get over this cold that I caught!!

Aww, Lin, glad to see your birdies using the gyms and they look like they will enjoy using it. Punky looks so gorgeous there. What a sweetie. Tracey, I've replied to your pm. Just let me know what you think. Karen... You don't need one.. heheh... your whole aviary is one!! Your birds are lucky to have that kind of space to free fly in.
  21. awww, buster is so adorable!! what cute noises.. hehe.. Fez is gorgeous there too.
  22. hmmm you're right Nerwen, I didn't pay much notice to the tail feathers. Though if it is a greywing, , it is a pretty badly marked greywings.. there's too much yellow on the wings unless it's molted them out.
  23. Sorry Freeman, but I think your sweet boy is a sweet girl.
  24. Hmmm Karen, I better bring a long a pad and pencil to jot things down as I check them. I surely will forget who's got who by the time I get home from your place!! :fear
