What Am I?
I'm thinking clearbody as well... wing patterns doesn't look spangle, and it doesn't have the spangle clear tail feathers. so I would say not spangle. Like nerwen said already, throat spots too prominant to be a dilute, and also the wing marking are too inconsistent for dilute as well... some patches are too dark.

New Genetic Lesson
Lovey Thanks for your explanation, I do understand the little bit of differences between lacewings and fallow.. and I can definitely see the differences in the links that you provided. However, what I'm trying to get at is that I can't tell the difference in picture one that Nerwen posted, and I was just wondering how (apart from getting pics off a fallow site I am assuming) would you tell that one apart.. as I only see yellow colour, not even diluted body colour. I have seen lacewing as brilliantly coloured as the picture posted, so was just trying to wrap my head around it that's all. well for this particular picture anyway.

New Genetic Lesson
I don't see any body colour on bird one. only yellow. so I still don't know how I can distinct this bird as a fallow rather than a lacewings.

New Genetic Lesson
Just curious... how do you tell the first one being a fallow and not a lacewings? I Thought all lacewings have red eyes wtih cinnamon marking too. The first one kinda look like a Lutino lacewing to me.

Eyes Dilating....
Oh yes, I love it... When two of my males (only two of them in the cage) Tango and Mr Attitude go at it with full on flirting, it's cool to see both their eyes dilate..

Jnr Boss & The Missus
beautiful babies! Sorry to hear about the squashed one. good luck with Twerp. Both parents would have to be split for blue to get a blue baby. That would mean they have blue gene, unless mommy had a fling with someone with a blue gene. were they colony bred? or breeder box bred?

Head Spot Discussion
I was just thinking about that... if it is true then, it would means that these two little ones must be split to recessive.
-
Head Spot Discussion
Lovey, I dont think that they are saying that one with a headspot is a recessive pied, but rather a carrier for the recessive pied gene. I hope that makes sense.

Head Spot Discussion
This is indeed very interesting. But I'm just curious after reading your post, I got to thinking, did the clutch that you mentioned produced any 'classic looking recessive pied'.. by that I mean one like Lovey's gorgeous Pretty. Or was all the babies like the bird you showed in the picture.. normal marking but with the small headspot? just curious... trying to wrap my brain cells around it.. hehehe.

Dominant Or Recessive Pied?!?!?!
Birds that look like dominant pied and only have one iris ring I would safely assumed that it is a double factor dominant pied. It is a characteristics in the DF dom pied to only have one iris ring. Like Bubble's new rescue bird FREE.. and my SPIRIT. Both only have one iris rings. Remember Chase?? We had some discussion about her whether she's a dominant or a recessive pied, and most thought that she was a dominant pied due to the body colour up around her neck area. Eight months since she hatched she still hasn't got any signs of iris rings, so I'm very confident to say that she's a recessive pied (also aside the fact that everyone ignored the fact that both parents were recessive therefore can only produce recessive)... I am going to say that Lilly is a recessive pied as she has the classics 'signs' to be a recessive. Here's spirit and her one iris ring...

Butcher Bird...
I don't even know if I've ever seen them here in Western Australia. if they are here, I must be blind!! (Laughing out loud)

Milo What Is He(again)
okay, definitely opaline. Yellow edging to the wings just simply means that he's a Yellowface 2. Yellowface 1 will have white wing edging.

Hopeless With Genetics. Please Help.
here's my guesses/thoughts... Tyler is a double factor skyblue dom pied. Mintie is a skyblue opaline Cadbury... looks a lot like my Chase (except chase is grey). Everyone thought that she was a dom pied, but she turns out to be a recessive pied as she has no iris rings at all and she's nearly one year old. So I'm going to guess that Cadbury is a cobalt recessive pied (until you tell me that she has iris rings that is then that would make her a dominant pied!! (Laughing out loud)) And the new one, looks to be a skyblue opaline spangle. :ausb:

Milo What Is He(again)
I think it is a YF2. probably a mauve.. he seems to be too 'blue' to be a grey. my other initial reaction is that he's a badly marked opaline.. not much opaline marking there, but enough to make me think that it's an opaline. Do you a closer picture of his back?!?

Oscar And Layla...
great pics of little Lilly. I'm going to stick with Recessive pied.

What Do "starving" Budgies Look Like?
(Laughing out loud).. wow look at them... sooo funny and cute!! my budgies wouldn't put up with that.. they'll only allow a max of two birds in the middle of the dish or they'll 'ack' at the third bird trying to sit in it!!
