Hi all, I'm new here, and I need help!! I have just found myself to be the carer/owner of two lovely baby budgies (I've had two other budgies, but they were alot older when I got them), I think they are about 3 weeks old... may be... both have their tail, wing and cheek feathers (and also a bit on top of their head). I can see a lot of other feathers coming through, however both seems to be missing their down feathers (fluffy ones). Is that normal at this stage? What can I do to keep them warm if this is not normal? Another thing is, earlier, I tried feeding them hand rearing formula that I got from the local bird place, they don't seems to be too interested. I think they might be a bit scared of their new environment, they were constantly looking for corners to stick their head in to hide (which was very cute really). What can i do to assure them that it's okay, and how do I make sure that they feed properly. One last thing, what sort of housing would be best for them? I currently do not own a nesting box or anything like that. Unfortunately they are sitting in a cardboard box similar size to a nesting box. Do I need to find a nesting box for them? or is there an alternative out there that?? I have a fairly large bird cage which I believe will be more than enough space for them when they are a bit older. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you so very much. Cheeta P.S. Once I figure out how to post some pics, I'll post some up of the two lovely babies.
