Cheeky looks like he's really tucking into the mandarin!! Yum yum yum!!
  8. Oh wow that is so cool! Imagine that.. 'I don't fancy all the blue on me, I'll molt it out and get some white on me. ' that is sooo cool!! Thanks for finding those.
  9. That area are new feathers, which was why I thought that she was molting, but the new feathers came back white. And no, no white spot or feathers anywhere else but that little patch. It could possibly be bad diet, may be after the next molt the blue will come back??
  10. Hope is the little girl that I found flying around my aviary awhile back...and I've now adopted her in as one of mine... I thought that she's just a normal blue budgie, but than after a closer inspection, I've noticed a little white patch on her chest.. I thought she was molting at first, but now, I see white feathers, and not just fluffy down feathers there. Is this normal for a normal blue? Can normal budgie have a little white patch on their chest? or does this mean she's a pied of some sort? Oh all her other markings are the same as a normal budgie, just that white patch on her chest that stands out to me... I've included a photo to show you what I mean. Thank you. p.s... she's molting at the moment, that's why she looks so very scruffy!!

Aww those two are just gorgeous.
  14. so does that make him a recessive grey-green cinnamon pied?
  15. Like Lin's suggested, all city farmers should stock them. otherwise here are some major bird dealers in Perth that stock them. Bird and fish place (welshpool rd, wattle grove) Birdworld (Abernethy Rd, Belmont) Birds 'n all (??? Caversham) Birdbarn (Nicholson Rd, Canningvale) I personally get them from the city farmers as they are cheaper than the bird places. good luck locating the pellets.
  16. hmm you know what, i'm not 100%sure about the eye colour. i'll check when i get home from work later. And may be see if i can get some more pics of him. I had a look earlier when i got home. His eyes are dark brown, but if the sun gets a shine on it, it seems reddish colour. He hasn't got the red eyes like the albino or anything like that. Does that mean anything if his eyes is sort of reddish? and i think his colour is more grey than olive.
  17. Yeah, he's one of mine. I don't have a name for him yet though. okay, this little guy is about 8 months old. No iris ring, and cere is staying pinkish purpley. So I'm gathering that it's a recessive pied. The splotches.. yes, that's what's getting me. I can't even tell the colour on it myself!! I think he's got some sort of cinnamon in him, may be, his wings marking is cinnamonish colour. The body colour.. well that's the bit that I'm wondering. he's kinda darkish olive green, brown colour. but then, I don't think it's that dark at all. You know, I just noticed the two little spots on his throat. Can't say that I've ever noticed that before!! Hmm well if someone could tell me what he is, that would be great!! I know the rest of my flock, it's this little one that's stumping me with his colours. Oh, and I don't know know his gene pool (meaning who the mom and dad are...), sorry.
  18. Hi, He is one of my aviary bird. Was wondering if someone can help me with his mutation, that would be greatly appreciated. cheers Thanks once again. Cheers Cheeta

  21. A big congrats to you Rose. Casper is a very handsome little dude.
  22. That really saddens me to read that people are just so cruel to animals! I know it happens, but I'm always to shock to read things like that! Good on you for doing something about it. We need more people like you out there. I feel sorry for the guy that bought the 200+ budgies from this guy at the same time angry with him for the fact that he didn't report him to the authority!! His flock is going to start out with diseases and who knows what else... Oh well...
  23. Normal skyblue
  24. Sorry it must be the flash. I have the bird at home, he's one of my new boys.. and he's blue, or at least he seems blue in sunlight anyway. Albino... The girl on the left. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v639/Che...llowBack450.jpg
  25. If we're going with type one Yellowface blue.. How about this little guy?? Yellowface Blue p.s....If I'm correct, the mutation I choose is (if I'm incorrect, just ignore me.. hehe ) Grey Opaline Spangled.
