He's going great. He ate some green today, or at least there were bits taken out anyway from the bok choy.. I tried brocolli with him earlier,didn't want to have anything to do with it!! (Laughing out loud) He's happy to come out of his cage, in fact he's eager to come out of his cage. he'll step on to my finger to come out, after that, he kinda just fly around.. So some taming still needed there.. hehe.. I'm going to let him learn to fly for a few more days, then I'll get his wings clipped so I train him properly. I haven't really watched him much today in the cage as I had to go out most of the day. he's settled in for the night again. Very cute he is.

I tried the corn on the cob, he looked at it and had a look that said something like 'what the is this??' or 'What do I do with it??' . You can see the bit of corn I put in there for him... Untouched!!! ... Probably just need some time to check things out here. I just bought some more bok choy from the shop today, so I'll give that a try. all my other budgies love them!!!

Goofy's been great today.. he was definitely not intimidated by anything in this house!! Including the cats!!! When I was taking all those pics, he happily jump onto my fingers and sit there and stare at me!! (Laughing out loud)... wasn't scared or anything. At one stage when I was trying to take some shots of him trying to get into the waterdish, I lift up the little door thing, and he stepped right up, jump right onto the camera and made himself comfortable there. I was giving him head scratches as well, and he was LOVING it!!! I was a bit worried that he didn't eat this morning or afternoon, but figured he probably need some more time to adjust to the new place. When I came home from the shop about two hours ago, I saw him pigging out at his seeds. He's not eating green yet, but I'll gethim there..

'Hi, my name is Goofy, don't I look soooo cute???' "mommy said that I've been really good so she'll let me watch the chooks from inside the house and enjoy a bit of sunshine. ' 'I tried to take my first bath at my new home today, but I think I'm a little too big for the waterdish.......' 'Oooopes sorry mommy I wet your camera.....' Yep, my budgies go nuts on the cuttlebone too. Just tearing chunks out of it and throwing it away!! so funny to watch.

My quails that lives with my budgies have pavers as the floor. but i give them a corner of the aviary with husk and seeds but also give them a tray of dirt that they can bath in. Sort grass for them to peck at. They are happy.

Wow, that's a GREAT aviary!! i wish i have the place for such an aviary!!!! i'm turning a shade of green over here.. With an aviary that size, i think the Ekkies should do fine in it.. though i would ask about the wire size, they are great at chewing through and breaking thin wire mesh. As with quails... that's like if you have that, it'll be almost a sustainable environment for everyone! you see, you feed the budgies, and the budgies will drop all food scrap on ground which the quails will gobble up... then they'll produce eggs for you little bert to munch on along side with the insects that comes in to feed on the dropped food too... see all you need is to get the budgie food!!! (Laughing out loud)... hehehe
