I thought I had better put in two food bowls since they keep kicking seeds out of that one from diving in and staying in there.. well to my 'horror' this morning when I work up, both seeds foodbowl were filled with budgie tail sticking right up in the air, and the seeds, well they are all at the bottom of the cage under the grate.... I think I need a bowl like Goofy's new dig... harder to kick the seed out!!! (Laughing out loud)

holy moly... dang there goes all my genetics lesson down the drain!!! I thought mauve coloured babies have blue cheek patch doesn't it??

So first there was Goofy diving in head first for the food bowl..... And now, I got these two new little babies, I didn't think they both could possibly fit into a tiny little foodbowl together... well guess I was very wrong!!!! Unlike Goofy, they don't even care that I'm right there in front of them taking photos. I can touch them, and even move the bowl around without them coming out of the bowl!! Though Blondie thinks that the inside of the cage is a better place to stay, Skate certainly didn't care less about the moving bowl!!! Here he is about three feet away from his cage... I originally thought that may be it's that particular foodbowl... but nope... Check out Goofy's new dig!!! (Laughing out loud) He absolutely loves it in there!! So who want to take a jab at this little guy... Is s/he is a male or female? and also is s/he a dominant or recessive pied?!?! Here are some pics... okay keeping in mind that Karen (budgiebird) says that both the parents are recessive pied (Romeo and Juliet), but the colouring seems to stump some people?? So with that factor in mind, what's your guesses on this little one? Here's a front view... Turning to the left.... Then to the right.... Then right around the back for the wing markings.... Now for a close up of the face.... (please note that the cere is now alot more purplish pink.....) okay anyone?!?!?!?! Oh i'm still thinking Chase for the name.. For some reason, I just can't get the name Skate around my brain!! I always think Chase when I see him... hehe..

I'm thinking Chase for Skate (I've been watching too much 'House' on TV.. ) I like that name. I hope you feel better soon mate. Get some sun, it'll do some good. i hope they are boys too, i've got way way too many girls. Lovey... yes i did... thank you all. ah ha.. i'm definitely hoping that they'll turn out boys because i'm just sooooo over run by girls!! Currently not including these two, i have 7boys and 12 girls!! Need more boys!!! I think the white one is more Grey rather than mauve as s/he has grey cheek patches and not the purply blue ones. or at least i hope anyway.

oh poor Frankie. yeah, good thing that you were on the ball!! Though i have to say Frankie looks kinda adorable all poofy like that.. hehe... but of course the original face is much cuter. Sunny is gorgeous!!

oh i'm sorry lovey... please don't stop talking to me... They both came with names, but I'm considering changing it to suit their personality more. Not sure what to yet, I'm still thinking about it. Interesting, very interesting.. Dominant one hey. hmmm would it be possible to get dominant baby from a pair of recessive pieds? As with girls, i think it's actually the flash that makes them look like that. They are actually not white on the ceres if you're looking at them. i'll have to try to get some picture of that without the flash. i think the pics of them laying on their back isn't taken with flash, though i had bright lights next to them... I thought that double factor pied are almost white or yellows with a bit of body colour on the rump?!?!? Yeah i think you're right. I'm very sure that the parents are recessive... unless we both missed something.. Hey Patches, you've got good eyes and is a great observer!! They do look like BB babies don't they... I was wondering if anyone would noticed!! Good work detective.

I just want to introduce my newest additions to my flock. Both recessive pied. Birdie No 1 I'm camouflaging! Can you see me?!?! I'm here mommy.... I can be just like Goofy.. I like laying on my back... I'll even fall asleep laying on my back... Birdie No 2 I'm a cutie aren't I?? I can lay on my back too... But I really don't like it all that much though.... Oh my three cats are constantly hidden away somewhere snoozing away!! (Laughing out loud). To be honest, my cats just don't bother the birds at all. I have an outdoor aviary and three budgie cages inside, and the cats have access to the rooms that the budgies are in, and they don't even bother looking at the birds anymore. They kinda think that it's all part of the furniture. Mind you I have a cockatoo that terrorises the cats so maybe the cats are just afraid of anything that resemble the cockatoo.

I would be worried that the budgie may be a little too small for microchipping, but then again, I have no clue as to exactly how much muscle mass you require to get animals microchipped. I do wonder if we can microchip the little guys.. hmmm anyone know for sure??
